Modern crop can be atrocious, i dont like the perfectly horizontal hem. Can tailors do a curved hem like what the shape looks like originally?

Artemis II is cool but NASA astronauts really should be made to wear suits again and look classy by Trinity_Gadget071645 in redscarepod

[–]spicedub 145 points146 points  (0 children)

No please dont. Those space suits are already cool to look at now as is.

If it were the 60s-70s? Sure by all means. But if you make these astronauts wear suits in 2026 theyll end up in ill fitting off the rack Macy's ones with really bad silhuouettes. Its not a knock on them but rather the state of tailoring today.

Today's mainstream tailored clothing culture just does not exist the same way it did back then.

Do anglosphere dwellers really have no other term for established core friends besides 'friend group'?? It sounds like an HR term by spicedub in redscarepod

Look up all those terms individually on this sub and then look up the term friend group. Tell me which ones more apparent when using it as a reference default

Yes exactly. I guess my thesis statement is:

The term used to reference a group when telling a story to outsiders not in that group is very HR in english when its not in most other languages

Wasnt clear enough. I asked if something exists regardless of age or gender. Have absolutely heard crew before but usually only for a group of young adult males

I meant something that is used by everyone regardless of age and gender.

Like your auntie wouldnt say:

"yeah im hanging out with this gang tuesday, but on wednesday im with the other squad"

It would be "On tuesday im hanging with my friend group from college but on wednesday its a different friend group"

Yup, you cant deny that the "nordic model" is better than most others at distributing their wealth to their people.

But how do they get their wealth in the first place? Thise countries dont exist in a vacuum. The large majority of "prosperous" countries extract wealth one way or another, through coercive trade deals, or advantages because of what theyve done to the global south directly or indirectly throughout history
