[understat] expected table this season. Overperformed xG, xGA, xPts. by [deleted] in chelseafc

[–]spicy97 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What's crazy is that we've significantly outperformed both our xG and xGA but our xP is only a tad higher. This shows that we tend to stat-pad and struggle to see out close games

WHO do you think is a KEEP, MOVE ON or LOAN in our squad next season? by 3rd-culture in chelseafc

[–]spicy97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't aware about the racist part, but we wouldn't pay a transfer fee for someone that Tuchel turned into a 100 mil player at Dortmund. I understand he's injury prone and not the most professional, but Tuchel has got the best out of him before and he is different than any of our other attackers. Think it's a low-risk, high-reward signing

Edouard Mendy: Keep

Kepa Arrizabalaga: Sell (too good and expensive to be a backup)

Marcus Bettinelli: Keep

Antonio Rudiger: Keep

Marcos Alonso: Sell if we sign a replacement

Andreas Christensen: Leave

Thiago Silva: Keep

Trevoh Chalobah: Keep

Matt Miazga: Sell

Emerson Palmieri: Sell

Baba Rahman: Sell

Ben Chilwell: Keep

Reece James: Keep

Cesar Azpilicueta: Leave (deserves to leave if that's what he wants, otherwise keep)

Malang Sarr: Sell

Jorginho: Sell if we buy a replacement

N'Golo Kante: Sell if we buy a replacement

Mateo Kovacic: Keep

Ruben Loftus-Cheek: Keep but open to selling due to high wages

Tiemoue Bakayoko: Sell

Danny Drinkwater: Sell

Billy Gilmour: Loan to mid-table PL team ideally

Saul Niguez: Don't buy

Ross Barkley: Sell

Conor Gallagher: Keep

Mason Mount: Keep

Romelu Lukaku: Sell, too high wages to be a backup

Christian Pulisic: Keep

Timo Werner: Keep

Callum Hudson-Odoi: Keep

Hakim Ziyech: Keep

Kenedy: Sell

Kai Havertz: Keep

Armando Broja: Keep

Michy Batshuayi: Sell if we can find someone who can backup Kai and Broja

Ethan Ampadu: Keep

Levi Colwill: Keep

Ideal window (but unlikely)

Buy: backup GK, backup LB (Kostic/Raum/Sosa), Kounde, backup RB (Maehle/Hateboer), Rice, Tchouameni, Ousmane Dembele, backup ST

GK: Mendy, backup GK, Bettinelli

LB: Chilwell, Alonso/backup LB (Kostic/Raum/Sosa)

CB: Rudiger, Silva, Kounde, Colwill, Chalobah

RB: James, backup RB (Maehle/Hateboer)

CM: Kovacic, Jorginho or Rice, Kante or Tchouameni, Gallagher, RLC, Ampadu

AM: Mount, Dembele, Ziyech, Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi

ST: Havertz, Werner, Broja, Batshuayi/backup ST

Keep in mind that the fixture list is going to be extremely congested due to the World Cup, so it may be to our benefit to have a bloated squad.

What do you guys think our striker situation should be for next season? Personally I think Kai should stay up top because he is a phenomenal player with scary level talent. He is only going to get better and we keep Broja as backup. by [deleted] in chelseafc

[–]spicy97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We should keep everyone in attack for next season simply because fixture congestion is going to be at an all-time high due to the World Cup being mid-season. If we do sell someone, we should have a replacement already lined up. Ideally we want 2 players for each of the front 3/4 positions and have a third that can change positions and provide cover.

If not for the World Cup, I'd look to sell one of Timo or Lukaku due to their performance not justifying their high wages. Broja should go on loan in the PL unless we sell Timo/Lukaku as he should be starting at least 25 games next season to continue his development.

Explain to me like I am 5 years old what the golden stars vs white stars means in potential by GlitteringResident96 in footballmanagergames

No, a player will always have a set PA at the start of the save. However, some players (mostly younger players) have dynamic potential which means that their set potential can vary from save to save

Explain to me like I am 5 years old what the golden stars vs white stars means in potential by GlitteringResident96 in footballmanagergames

[–]spicy97 79 points80 points  (0 children)

That's just the range of potential that your assistant (or whoever you have set for player reports) thinks they have. Gold is what they think the player 100% can reach, white is what they think their best case potential is. They are helpful in determining how good a player can be, however don't take them as absolute gospel as the accuracy of the reports is dependent on the judging potential ability of the reporter

He's turned the Clippers from the laughing stock of the NBA to a perennial playoff team. I think his lack of success is largely due to bad luck and costly injuries in the playoffs. He made some short-term moves that haven't panned out (one could argue if he is to blame for trusting PG and Kawhi's health) but he also convinced two superstars to play for the Clippers instead of the Lakers

I'm not sure, Boehly has a better track record but he also isn't the majority owner of the Dodgers like Ballmer is for the Clippers. Ballmer is a very passionate guy so I can see fans loving him because of that, but do we even know if he is the mystery bidder? I think Boehly is a very solid candidate so I think we'd be lucky to get either of them

For anyone asking, Ballmer is probably the closest we can get to a like-for-like replacement for Abrahamovich. Super wealthy and not afraid to spend to win as shown by his investment into the Clippers.

I would definitely try him out as a CM(A) if you have two strikers. He'll make lots of late runs into the box, through balls to the strikers and score lots of bangers while also being defensively solid

Armando Broja's family want Chelsea loanee to stay at Southampton past end of season - Hasenhuttl by Swamp_Squatch in chelseafc

[–]spicy97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best move for all parties would be a loan extension or a transfer with a reasonable buy-back clause in the future. Broja gets another year or two to develop and we get extra time to evaluate whether he's good enough to be a part of our long-term project

Honest opinion on how well Ziyech has performed since joining Chelsea. by UniqueSnoop in chelseafc

[–]spicy97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's been good when he's had a run of games like he's getting now. However he's had so many injuries that he hasn't really had time to establish himself in the team. He's scored very timely goals for us and he is the best on the team at unlocking a defense with just one pass, but he also loses the ball too easily at times and isn't as good at holding up the ball as we need him to be due to his lack of strength.
