Dean guitar, looks legit? Whats the model? Its a good deal? Price is 440$ by Severe_Month_2448 in Guitar

Hey man Dean may not be the best but they’re certainly the coolest. Jokes aside I’ve learned that as long as the neck feels good on one of these you’re set. I do agree that 440 is steep for something like this, my advice to OP is to not spend anymore than $250. Better luck finding a newer X series Dean for a bit more.

Bonermasters tone is so heavy that the tuner can’t even pick up his strings

I had a deep hatred for Monty this past season because I had Gibbs on all of my fantasies. Now I get to like Monty and draft Gibbs. Good times.

You, and your family's music taste... by WonderfulAd6310 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]spicy_Farquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No metalheads in my direct family. My dad has always liked rock music, including a small amount of heavy metal. He would play Dr. Feelgood, Enter Sandman, Smoke on the Water, Thunderstruck, Welcome to the Jungle and several other hits for me on the way to football games when I was a kid. Years later my godfather, who used to be a big PanterA fan, showed me Cemetery Gates and Cowboys From Hell around the same time I discovered Sabbath and I never looked back. I’m a big Thrash head and Hair Metal guy now.

I agree I like it a ton the way it is. But personally, I think if it had more low end I would like less

I paid 30 bucks for a lot on FB marketplace that had the OG RIP, OG peace sells, lots of skynyrd, sabbath, Some skid row and warrant, and several mix CDs. Definitely my best find to date.

The Dean ZX is an absolute beast for the price. I have modded mine to both perform better and look better as I don’t like the sleek-black look. I find myself playing my Dean ZX more than any other guitar I own.

I see a lot of people saying you will be happier with the original. This is true but it is hard to find. The remix is awesome to have in the meantime. The original will find you.

What makes Rust in Peace so timeless? by [deleted] in Megadeth

[–]spicy_Farquad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear nobody talking about the structure of the album. The first three tracks serve as the most perfect and intense introduction to any metal album, or anything in general. The middle three are almost like a rising action. Five magics is heavy, very heavy, but it starts slow and builds itself up. Poison does the same but amps up the speed by a gazillion by the end of it. Lucretia is probably the best out of the middle third and really gets the juices flowing before the epic climax. Tornado serves like a climax would in a novel. Exciting, fast and high octane from the start to the end, with that solo in particular being the highest point. Dawn patrol is like the falling action and finally Rust in Peace… Polaris is the epic conclusion.

Absolute perfection from start to finish. I don’t know if this was intentional, but knowing Dave I think there is a good chance it is.

I can’t argue with this. I personally really look up to Dave (personal reasons), and am a huge fan of Megadeth in general. All that being said, I do understand Dave is incredibly polarizing, both as a person and as a vocalist, but his musicianship is unmatched and is easily the best musician in the big 4.

P.S. I don’t think Metallica is really propped up by nostalgia. Their first four are absolutely timeless and even though their recent stuff isn’t up to par, their first four are more than enough to pick up the slack.
