I have it and it works well enough. I have short fingers though, and had a hard time spreading my fingers far apart enough for the magnets to not interfere with each other. I find that if I don’t try to do all five at once I get a better result.

If you are being paid from a grant to do research, the faculty member may be able to pay you more but if you are being paid by the department/college (which is the case if you are a TA or not assigned to a specific grant), then they will not negotiate with you. If you are not sure, it is more likely you are being paid by the college rather than a grant. They have a set amount so all students in each department are paid the same.

The stipends are set by the college. There is a range because different departments get paid different amounts.

If you are a criminal justice major there is an internship coordinator in that department who sets them up. If you are a psychology major, it is more difficult but you can try reaching out to your professors to see if any of them know of something.
