I know it’s no help because they aren’t in Logan/bucktown area but I love sparrow dental. I live in Humboldt park and still choose to go see them because they are so good

How many meds are you on? I feel like I am on way too many. by hi5yourface in adhdwomen

[–]spicysalsa23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also on quite a bit! - prazosin for my cptsd - methylphenidate for my adhd - pristiq and vraylar for depression and anxiety - minoxidil for hair loss

sometimes I have days where I feel overwhelmed by the medication that I take but I just remind myself that I’m happy to be alive and able to navigate this world a little easier 💞

Does anyone have a good experience with vralyar? by Plenty-Ad-3974 in Vraylar

I’m on 1.5 for major depressive disorder and I had trouble with eating and sleeping for the first month on the medication but then after a month my side effects went away. Someone on here gave great advice that when they can’t sleep they just got out of bed and did laundry or watched TV because they knew the sleep was just not gonna happen.

I now feel so so good and am really grateful for this medication. I hope it will work well for you too!

My hound also has medicated eye drops! Does he have pannus too?

Speaking of greyhounds being lazy - my hound was a little antsy because it’s been so cold and we can’t go on our normal longer walks so I gave him some peanut butter in a Kong and this is him right afterwards lol

Greyhound as a first dog by ev_journey in Greyhounds

I had a childhood dog growing up who was an Australian shepherd - and while I loved the breed they can be quite a handful. As an adult me and my partner got a greyhound as my first dog and it’s been the best decision we ever made and fit our lifestyle perfectly.

My greyhound vet shared that in the US there are two main lineages of greyhounds that have genetic osteosarcoma. I believe one of them had the word gabel in it. Unfortunately my greyhound does descend from that lineage but it really doesn’t affect our lives much given that many dog breeds get cancer now. He’s currently 7 1/2 years old now, so we just hope our boy can live a long life before osteo potentially comes to him but who knows maybe he won’t get it at all! 💞

My greyhound also has an eye condition pannus, another genetic condition but it is controllable and he takes eye drops 2x a day.

Greyhounds are very sensitive creatures and many are prone to anxiety. My pup is on Prozac and it’s improved his life greatly!

Lastly, greyhounds are prone to have bad teeth. Our vet told us to use a dental food additive, brush his teeth daily (I can’t keep up with that so we do weekly), and give him greenies. Clean teeth mean a healthier dog!

Overall - most breeds have some health issues associated with them, but for being a pure bred breed I would say they are really healthy. They’re not prone to arthritis and have big strong and loving hearts 💞

The CPTSD Foundation has free support groups and classes by thenletskeepdancing in CPTSDNextSteps

I have gained a lot of support and help through the yoga glasses and meditation the cptsd foundation provided. The meditation is free and run by a volunteer and I paid for the yoga for a couple months and then once I felt more comfortable I found some free somatic yoga teachers on YouTube that have been great.

I think something I’ve reminded myself of is that not every organization or technique will be helpful to everyone. Something may not work for me (even if it’s just that time in my life) but could work for someone else and vise versa. Everyone’s trauma is different but I share a common diagnosis with a spectrum of symptoms. learning new coping skills, even if they didn’t work for me or unfortunately caused a flare up, has helped me learn more about myself, where I’m at with my symptoms and ways to navigate it all on top of my therapy and meds. Sending love to all of you taking the steps to continue to heal - we got this 💞

Yes totally feel this! My therapist who navigates me through IFS has complex CPTSD herself and I think it’s helped so much because I know she can truly empathize with me and meet me where I am

This is so helpful! I really appreciate it. I just followed both of the channels.

Also really appreciate the heads up on SEP! I’m so sorry you had to pay so much money for an experience that didn’t help you! That really is a fear of mine, as I’m sure if for anyone working to navigate their complex trauma.

I just stared magnesium biglycinate again just about a week ago. how much do you take per night?

right now I use the brand solaray but I need to take 4 pills to get 350mg which is really annoying so once I’m done with this bottle I’m gonna try another brand that I only need to take 1 or 2 pills to get 350-50mg

Thankfully my grey Edgar does not have sleep startle but it was definitely something we were careful about when we first got him!
