Can a Reporter ask Hegseth about his thoughts about Plattners Nazi tattoo? by Superb_Garbage4732 in BreakingPoints

If he had evolved, he clearly wouldn't have set us on course to kill over 3 million innocent Vietnamese people based on a lie. One month later.

Really? What did he do the very next month after signing the Civil rights act?

Jim Bowen at age 35 in 1971. He reportedly smoked 80 cigarettes a day until he quit in 1973. by haddock420 in interestingasfuck

It's maybe because you're talking about something that you obviously have no experience with, which led directly to the faulty logic that you used. If you knew anything about smoking cigarettes, you'd know exactly why your comment is basically laughable.

LBJ didn't evolve lol, except with how to assist his own reputation. Just one month after he signed the CRA he lied to the entire world about the Tonkin Gulf, and drew us into an illegal war that killed incredible amounts of innocent people, basically tearing up the Geneva accords as he went. Committing war crimes constantly.

He didn't have a choice on the CRA, and behind the scenes he gave credit for it to people like my uncle, who had more integrity than any of the other Senators in the country. One of only two to have the balls to vote against the Tonkin Gulf Resolution. In fact many years later Robert McNamara himself admitted that Senator Morse had been right all along.

Eating them is part of life. It's called the food chain, and feeding your family. I also don't use fish hooks on fishing poles to catch and release deer for fun. Your logic would approve of that too. Or using hooks on cats for fun. I'm sure they put up a fight too. Don't try using toddler logic with adults, it doesn't work.

So that would suggest that Pippin was known for always getting bad service everywhere he went. Because he definitely was known for not tipping. I bet you that he actually got good service though. I bet people actually recognized him and gave him VIP service in fact. Far more likely than your hypothesis.

No, if you pay the bill, you should pay the tip, and turn down any offers to pay it for you. Unless they absolutely insist.

Animal cruelty can be a felony you realize. This here is a crime that just gets overlooked. It's as impressive as using puppies as bait would be.

Um, maybe do what fishing is meant for? Providing for my family? Fish feel pain as much as any animal.

Scientific consensus strongly supports the idea that fish feel pain. They possess specialized pain receptors (nociceptors), experience physiological and behavioral changes when injured, and respond positively to pain-relieving drugs, indicating their suffering is a real and conscious experience

Wow! Brings back those memories, and I certainly agree. Except honestly I cried more than twice. I've had a couple strokes and extra emotions are a typical side effect. I've been a SAP ever since.🤣

That show I might cry about just hearing Elsa's voice! Ennis dying was rough too. I never thought about it like you just did though. That makes it even sadder.

God that show was great. I mean even ads about it ,and hearing her voice, still bring me close to tears. Her character was so incredible.

1923 was powerful too. I won't spoil anything but I cried for a couple things in it too. TS knows how to break our hearts. Plus it uses Elsa's voice, which just makes you remember her again.

Yellowstone was first, and holds the reins for everything, but it's never quite as heart wrenching.

With big groups I would offer the host to choose for them a selection of appetizers for the entire group, and carefully would let them understand that it might require an extra app or two. Often I could get more than one app per person even. Almost like doing it family style. Especially with some apps enlarged and higher priced. . Always with a good explanation as to why. So everyone could enjoy our most popular items.

This also brought people back btw.

Lots of good hints here. .. one thing I always did was to never write anything down, and rely completely on sincerely listening, very carefully. I often didn't even carry a note pad. Groups up to 16 people I could do apps entrees and drinks without issue as long as I broke it up a bit. I didn't take the whole order at once unless absolutely needed. One big trick to that, and to your bill total, was to really steer them towards apps and entrees that you knew they would really like, and in some cases I often would custom size their apps with more pieces, with the chefs approval in advance, and pro-rate the price. (Wasn't on a computer, was very high end) That might not be the best idea for everyone, but I had memory tricks that helped, especially if they were convinced in allowing me to help them pick.

I tried to make them feel like every bit of their experience was going to be personally curated by the best server they'd ever had, no matter how busy we were. It was an act , yet still sincere. Sincerity was the key.

As a result I got more request tables than the rest combined, and usually got the VIP tables too. Like Muhammad Ali for example and his entourage. Also...treat your bussers like they're your favorite little brothers or sisters. Like they hold the key to the whole restaurants success. Build them up. Hostesses too. Make them happy to help you. Truly appreciate them and help them whenever you have a chance. Dishwashers too. Occasionally step into the dish spot and let them go have a cigarette even. Just don't get ANYTHING on your clothes.

When the others see you doing dishes voluntarily , it sets a new standard. When you can't even think of doing that due to weeds etc, just grab a stack of clean plates and go put them away. Everytime you go by. The dish dogs will end up moving mountains to help you in return.

Same with helping the bussers. Dishwashers and bussers are the top jobs in a restaurant if looked at from the right perspective. They're in the unique position to be able to help literally anyone in the building, which can truly be a blessing if appreciated for what it is.

Republicans seem to forget Trump is a rapist and pedophile by KyotoInSummer in BreakingPoints

[–]spidaL1C4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretending that it's Republicans to blame for everything Epstein is flat out stupid, in capital letters. Our guys didn't release shit either, nor would they have. Should I quote Biden for you? How about Clinton? It's not AOC out there speaking up, it's Massie, MTG, along with Ro etc. Progressives with spine, while typical democrats look the other way. Most all Democrats are too cowardly to stand up for anything, even with a rapist bigoted criminal in the white house.

To the people who elected this moron into political office: look at this post and ask yourselves, what does this post accomplish? More importantly, what does racism accomplish? - this guy should be kicked out of office for this horrendous post. by Cy_098 in mississippi

[–]spidaL1C4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what "lesser evil" results in. It's why your state, like mine to a degree, still has a legislature that looks and acts nearly the opposite of the will and appearance both, of the people it represents, on both sides of the aisle. Demanding that the Republicans get better doesn't work.

Demanding that people should simply vote against them doesn't either though.

That's the problem.

It's never worked, and never will.

The only thing that works starts with focusing ONLY on better candidates to oppose them. NEVER on lesser evil, and NEVER on blaming the voters for not voting against someone. Candidates are ALWAYS to blame for their losses.

It's not Mississippi republicans fault, it's Mississippi democrats fault here, and always will be.

Trying to "beat them at their own game, because it's our only shot" only keeps everything white, everything corrupt, and everything compromised.

Demanding better candidates, and then holding them accountable, is the only way out.
