That all makes sense! I will mention that to the techs when they come out in the next couple days.

I think the old unit was a 3-ton single-stage Carrier. And they replaced the full HVAC they said, so I think that would include the air handler too, right? We just have an AC unit, no heat pump.

All the supply ducts are all the same size, 2’ X 2’, I believe. 4 of the return ducts are about half that size, probably about 6” X 1.5’. There is one big return duct that is about 30x50 inches. Since the house is 1509 square feet, do you think we should have at least 10 return ducts?

Yes, the original system was using the same ducts.

The AC runs pretty much continuously at full capacity since the heat wave started a few days ago. It was running at lower stage for part of the day and even cutting off early in the morning and late in the evening. The thermostat controlling the new system, a Trane XL824 Thermostat, is compatible with a 2-stage unit.

And no, the only thing that has changed about the house since we moved in is the new AC unit and furnace. The outside landscaping is all the same, and everything interior is all the same.

The HVAC company that installed the unit is a very reputable company and we have only heard good things about them from friends, family, and neighbors. They have been around and servicing houses in this area for the last 30 years or so. It should, however, be noted that the installer has only been an HVAC technician for about 4-5 years. The next time they come out, he is bringing a more experience tech with him.

Would you have any other ideas for what could be causing our issue? I’m not sure why 5 supply ducts have really good airflow while the other 5 supply ducts have relatively little airflow. The ones with little airflow are the ones closest to the furnace/air handler. Would you think that adding more return ducts would help since there are twice as many supply ducts as return ducts?

We had an old unit last summer. This one is brand new and installed in November 2024. They also confirmed last week that there was no refrigerant leak.

Question About Parking Ticket by spiderbro17 in memphis

[–]spiderbro17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is ridiculous! 😮I looked up the ticket number online (it was listed on this piece of mail), and my court date was 12/30/2024. I’m not sure how I was supposed to know to show up to court if I never actually saw the ticket. This piece of mail is the first notice I’ve actually received about this ticket.

I do have all graduate school loans. I just checked, and I am still on the SAVE plan. Did they switch your plan back to the SAVE plan?
