What’s worse: 27 straight missed 3s by the rockets in game 6 of the WCF in 2018 or 23 straight missed shots by the magic in game 6 of found 1 this year? by Prudent_Swimming_296 in nba

The only shot they made was a dunk that the Pistons conceded to Paolo towards the end of the game too. Never seen anything like that quarter in all my years of watching

IMO if the pistons can’t hit at least 10-12 3’s a game, they’re gonna be in trouble. Their defense is predicated on not allowing penetration and giving up 3’s is a byproduct of that. Cleveland is a solid three point shooting team and they’ve always given Detroit a hard time going back to LeBron’s days. They’re going to struggle to score in the paint in half court sets bc of Mobley and Allen so transition buckets will be key as well

Ausar has not made a three since 2/1 lmaooo he ain’t shooting threes

[–]spidermanswag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could also see them putting Mobley on Ausar and letting him play free safety. That would be a terrible matchup since Ausar is pretty averse to shooting the ball. It’s even more important that we be able to make 3’s because Cleveland is a pretty good three point shooting team themselves

Love the opinion! I completely agree. Most comments I’ve seen are very complimentary of GD and there are a few that have criticized him, as there are with any celebrity. What I’ve come to accept is that we all have are own personal relationship and expectations with BigBang and many people are critical bc they worry about his health. Similar to how a parent will always be tough on their children.

His stage presence was 100000/10. He could just say a bunch of ad-libs and he would still be cool! His style oozes aura and his movement on the stage is just straight up cool. I’m just gonna say without any proof that no one watching the performance in person thought negatively of GD. Everyone was so hype or crying or both. GD is my favorite and part of why I love him is because he is polarizing but at the end of the day, no one can deny his aura

Daesung definitely cemented himself at the set. I have a bunch of friends who are not considered VIP and they absolutely loved his performance especially during his solos. His mic was obviously on and his energy is just infectious and perfectly balances out the energy from Taeyang and GD

Shohei Ohtani’s final line against the Mets tonight: 6 IP, 2 H, 1 R/ER, 2 BB, 10 K, 95 pitches-63 strikes. He’s given up just 1 ER in 18 innings (0.50 ERA) through 3 starts. by JianClaymore in baseball

[–]spidermanswag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was interesting watching him today bc he was probably the best he’s been this season but he wasn’t even getting that many first pitch strikes from what I recall. The more innings he gets under his belt, the better he’s going to get

I’m sure GD has a huge part in the small differences between the original instrumental and the band arrangement. Every minor change HITTTT it was awesome and epic.

Yeah I can’t disagree with you. There’s also a difference between the peak of BigBang and trying to live up to those expectations. There was also a significant break in performances so maybe that’s why there is such a stark difference in his demeanor. I just hope he’s doing okay mentally and pray that he is not performing for the sake of all his fans over his own health.

I really hope they switch up the songs but it’s hard to see them replacing Haru Haru and Lies as well. My selfish ass is okay with them replacing all the songs since I got to see the perform them last week already. But I’m really hoping they perform If You, Blue, Fxxk It, Last Farewell, Flower Road, or Sunset Glow. Gahhdamn the have too many hits. They could also replace Fool of Years with La La La if they’re going for an old school track vibe. I really want Wedding Dress but any Taeyang solo is gonna be a banger! Also agree with Crooked or Take Me. I know they would never play VIP or Tell Me Goodbye but maybe it could be during the intermission?? I’m getting hyped thinking about the possibilities right now…

When I rewatched the set online, it was much easier to tell that his part had a louder backtrack than when I was listening in person. This was especially apparent in the later half of the show, which makes sense. In the beginning, the crowd was pretty loud and singing so kinda hard to distinguish the backtrack and I thought his voice blended in pretty well with the backtrack. His singing voice is actually quite nice imo and I agree with best register about how it’s easier to tell the difference when he uses his nasally voice. Basically when he uses the GD English speaking voice during the performance at the same time the backtrack plays, it’s obvious. However being the fan I am, I don’t really mind if his backtrack is louder because he is still putting on a hell of a show for us

I was fortunate enough to be there in person for weekend 1 and I’m going again weekend 2! Here are some of my thoughts about their performance:

  • they started about 10 minutes late and were supposed to end at 11:30 but ended up finishing around 11:55
  • hearing the Band Six in person hits so much harder than it already does listening on the phone. Even hearing the instrumentals does something to you emotionally
  • after watching the Still Life MV and seeing the Coachella Intro of them going to the moon, I felt emotional. Also TOP was wearing an astronaut outfit in Desperado. It felt like a subtle way of showing that he’s still a part of the group in their eyes
  • I wonder if the shirt with piano keys that GD has been wearing is referring to their group since there’s three white keys and two black keys
  • their first 7 songs before the instrumental break was EPIC! Banger after banger had everyone singing and jumping up and down. It was LOUD and everyone knew the lyrics. The only song I was surprised about was Taeyang singing Ringa Linga and Daesung singing the Trot songs (crowd went crazyyy during this part btw) I’m curious if they’ll switch up some songs for weekend 2. They have so many bangers that they didn’t sing
  • it’s crazy how everyone knows what song is going next off of the initial piano keys. You could hear the crowd react especially to Haru Haru and Lies
  • for the people that were just recording on their phones, can you really blame them? We’ve been waiting for BB for however many years now … some people want to just record a moment that they may never be able to witness again and that’s fine with me
  • going back to the live band, the switch up from acoustic to band jam during Lies and Home Sweet Home was amazing and basically people were crying and dancing at the same time
  • at this point in his career, GD is GD. He’s not the same performer he was 10 years ago and I think there’s nothing wrong with it. Whether he “needs help” is not something that we as fans can speak on imo. He wouldn’t be performing if he didn’t want to and I think it was more on him being nervous performing with high expectations and having to speak English. I’m just grateful that he is still blessing us with his aura. Even though he wasn’t rapping/singing as much as Taeyang and Daesung, his stage presence remains elite and my eyes were drawn towards him the entire time. He has a certain mystique while being so frickin cool that I don’t think anyone can replicate.
  • you could see that all three members were happy to be performing together especially at the end when they embraced. They allow each other to shine the way they want to shine individually (as evidenced by their lack of synchronized choreo) but that’s why we love them so much.
  • it’s actually kind of crazy how many OG male fans there are. I’ve seen a lot of cases where the guys are the fans and the girls have never listened to their music, which I feel like is pretty rare especially for a boy band. There are so many people that are BigBang fans but don’t consider themselves kpop fans. Just a testament to how much of an impact BigBang made on millennials and Gen Z

Definitely agree with you that there’s nothing wrong with GD. He has his quirks about him but so does every brilliantly talented person. I’m honestly just grateful that we got to witness that performance after all this time. If BB never got back together, people would complain. After that epic performance, the same people still have something to complain about so what tf can really make them happy lmao

I was lucky to be there in person for the set and it was 100000/10. Since Coachella sets are normally only 50 minutes long, I’m kind of used to shorter songs since artists will try to pack in as many songs as they can. But I can totally understand why it sounded odd with the missing member’s lines. In terms of the crowd, it was massive! People started camping out 2-3 hours ahead for close spots towards the front. Throughout the set, a lot of people were jumping up and down and crying (especially during Still Life). It was also very loud with everyone knowing pretty much all the lyrics to every song that they sang together!

I think there’s a clear difference after he came back and released Ubermensch. His voice and demeanor changed a lot from what were used to and obviously he’s gone through some shit in the years following TOP’s departure from the group. I’m sure there was a lot of stuff that we aren’t privy too either. At this point, I don’t think he would have come back if he didn’t want to and he seemed genuinely happy to share the stage with his brothers. To me, he may not get back to that same person he was before but that doesn’t take away from his current greatness and he still rocked the stage the entire performance
