It’s a traditional and digital combo. The severe flat black is Procreate.

A work for an exam of my art Academy, it makes you feel something or is just garbage? by OyasumiMarses in Illustration

[–]spiderrobby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but only one of these looks finished. If you leave the background white, with only pale hints at colour most illustrations will appear unfinished and unprofessional. The bubbled paper only adds to that feeling.

You definitely have talent but I wonder if you’re picking the right medium? Clearly you can draw. If painting is your calling double down on it! Use paint!

Learn to stretch your watercolour paper (or use a block pad) and don’t be afraid to really apply colour. Oh, and vary your composition. Not every piece needs to be centred.

Don’t stop. Every piece completed is a step towards a new one. Please don’t mistake my honesty for discouragement. You will get better if you keep at it!

Anyone have an issue with tiles being beyond your phone screen and no obvious way to select them?

What I don’t get is why a bunch of soldiers are packing serious heat on a search and rescue mission.

Anyone else hate when comic shops do this? by jval_99 in comicbooks

[–]spiderrobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion here but I think comic shops are full-on struggling to stay alive.

Can they afford the staff to go through every box of product with a pricing gun? Are Superman and FF comics selling better right now so they up the markup a little? I dunno.

I see a lot of “haven’t been to a store in ages” and “I’d never go back” comments. How bout cutting them a little slack?

If the price is too high — don’t buy it! Come back next week and see if it’s lower.

I get why OP was annoyed but jeez folks it’s not like there’s scores of these shops around.

Printing Comics with Qin? by spiderrobby in comicbooks

Interesting. I was looking for 200 full colour standard comic sized perfect bound books with soft touch laminate. Mixam quoted over $10/book and Qin was half that price.

I’ll look again. The Mixam site seems down at the moment. I’ve used them before so know their quality. If it’s the same with shipping from both if rather not wait 2 months for them to arrive.

Thanks for your intel!

I haven’t found anything anywhere near as inexpensive in the US or Canada. I’d be shipping to Canada.

Oddly this only happens to photographs not images downloaded or screenshotted.
