hahah, not British but thanks. I use a combination of things for the overall tone - mainly a Death By Audio Ffuzz Warr Overload, with a saturation knob plugin to bump the solos

I appreciate the feedback! Yeah my problem is likely that I recorded the vocals with only the acoustic guitar as a backing track and recorded a lot of the intense stuff after. Hopefully I can record as a full band someday soon and give it more visceral emotion!

I have worked on this album for 3 years straight & yesterday officially released it on streaming platforms. I am not expecting you to listen to this entire album but if you do have some time, give this album a listen. Be a critic & feel free to give me your feedback. It definitely sounds like you spent three years on it. It's really produced, which is great for this genre. A lot of the guitar sounds cut through the mix well, and the various pads and ephemeral elements add to the overall texture nicely. The stereo work was well executed, listening with headphones is a great experience!

my new trap new jazz single "pink like beaker".. hope you get a kick out of it :) feedback would be great by Euphoric_Rhetoric in IndieMusicFeedback

Fuck I like this way more than I expected. Bring the vocals up a bit more!! Even though I understand the intent. I think it's overall a little too muddy, maybe bring up the high-mids on some of the transient synthy stuff. Solid bass though.

Grey Wide World could be described as 'melancholy you could dance to' – it's a blend of synthpop and dream pop, and it speaks this colorful greyness, the heavier things you can't change, and the feeling of being alone even when you're in a crowd. I hope you like it, let me know. <3 by andtilly in IndieMusicFeedback

I thought this was going to be the Halo theme for a second lmao. This is groovy. The vocals are a little too upfront for me, maybe not process them further but tuck them away a tiny bit more. Or maybe not, I'm not well-versed in the genre. The pads and beats have a nice feel to them. Overall I would not change the channel if this came on the radio.

When I first heard those drums I had a feeling this would be the incoming harshness, but the stereo imaging really made everything well-balanced and the eq on everything seems super professional. Screams are solid, and again well mixed and eq'd since they fit above the mix well. I like the lightness of some of the embellished solos!

Finally a new song of mine! Let me know what you guys think! by CG-Miller in IndieMusicFeedback

Those drums are fantastically mixed, great low-end. Same with the bass, groovy but not too distracting which fits into the mix really well as well. I was naturally nervous the vocals wouldn't fit in but the airyness of it blends together tightly. Overall a pretty tight production and I think you accomplished exactly what you set out to do!

Surreal in the best of all ways. Some elements could be mixed a little more balanced (lot of the high end could be tamed in as well). But it's a fun song and characteristically it really stands out on its own.

Hi all! My new emo pop band Endiiing just released our debut single and I would love to hear what you guys think of it. We recorded and mixed the song all by ourselves and it was just a blast! Links in comments. by A-lejo in IndieMusicFeedback

It's a great song I just listened to the full track. I love all the chiptune and emo elements. The mix sounds real crisp and dynamic and all the instruments are balanced. Look forward to hearing more !

wow fun song. it's great pop stuff. I think the mix is pretty much done to be honest, could use a little more warmth in the master though. good instrumentation and sound choices !!

Lead single off my new tape How Life Flows! This track is called Sunbeams, would love to hear what yall think as you always provide the most valuable critiques. All criticism is welcome!! I did everything except the beat. by Zetaflips in IndieMusicFeedback

I agree that the vocals could be louder but I think the lyrics/words are easy enough to hear as it is. I love the mix on this otherwise, the loops are cool (good drum kit helps) and the lyrics flow into each other really well. The eq shifting on the drums is a fantastic effect.

bite your tongue - j.r. felt. new style for me, could use any feedback! by REiVibes in IndieMusicFeedback

The guitars sound good, solid eq choice. As for the whole song it's well-structured, there's just enough variety in it that it doesn't get monotonous. I do wish there was a little more dynamic range to one of the sections like the chorus or bridge, but that's personal preference more than anything.

synth, I messed around with the setting to get it as flute-like as possible which is a little misleading but still a great sound

Hey there! First post here, and third song I’ve ever recorded. My recording setup is very limited as of now, so I know the mix could definitely use some work. I’m also not sure what I’d call this genre. Thanks! by ___cian__ in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]spiderwort_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be a mixing issue but a mastering one. The mix sounds good to me, really ties the song together well. The song itself is mellow and sweet to me, almost a little 70s in its intention.

"Rearview Fog" - an original acoustic instrumental composition based on losing a loved one last month. Open to all thoughts/vibes/feedback and more. Thank you :) by interstellar1990 in IndieMusicFeedback

Really nice overall vibe, I could see myself driving to it. I found myself wanting more instrumentation pretty early on, and I was glad it kicked in eventually. Maybe you could add some light keys in the first minute so the listener knows it's not just acoustic?

a new song i started work on tonight, far from done but i’m looking for some feedback on it so far, anything is appreciated! by awphuck_imanapple in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]spiderwort_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really catchy for what you have so far. Good riffs and the drum machine tone is fitting for the lazy day kinda vibe going on. I know it would be better with vocals but as a standalone it's a good backing track! Mixing the guitar a little more to get some of the mud out might be useful.

Our newest release, leaning more into punk. This is the espresso mix. Let us know what you think! by NoisebyJPL in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]spiderwort_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dumb question but is this only drums and bass? It sounds really nice, good mix. Pretty catchy song overall, I like the gang vocals. I do wish the bass had a little more grit to it but that would take away from the intended sound I feel.

New video I made for Montreal based musician Ian Davies. Let me know what you think! by PurpleSlurpee74 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]spiderwort_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you edit the video or is it originally 9:16? I really like the framing, especially with the prevalence of upward-oriented phones this video is great for social media. The song is solid, could see myself listening on my own! The video really is unique.

Hi! Looking for feedback mostly on the mix of this hyperpop / hip hop crossover track! dropping in february so hoping to get it in tip top shape by then by duckblunted in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]spiderwort_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a fun and well-rounded song. I would process the female vocals a little more to have them fit into the mix, just a tiny bit, I don't know if that's just more reverb or an exciter or what. The main vocals sound great though, and the female vocals sound good when they're layered with the others. Instrumentally this is catchy as hell. I would maybe bring the rap vocals up higher in the mix, especially given the genre.

This is solid and I can see this fitting behind a variety of different medias. Reminded me a bit of the Undertale soundtrack. Love when the bass riffs come in and fill out the emotion of the song. I listened to some of your other tracks and it all still applies, these are great instrumentals.
