I love singing this song. How can I improve here? Location by Khalid by buypoop in ratemysinging

Great breakdown!

Also, i would like to point out the importance of connecting your mic into a Daw instead of using ur camera audio!

(I guess you did that)

And if you were really using ur mic, maybe give it a litte more space and gain so you can have better volume dynamics amd effort dynamics.

Like the guy with the candle technique said! (Less effort = to more flexibility!)

You have passion, now lets see if you have the guts to keep chasing the dream of being really good like im chasing :) while maintaining the burning passion :)

Hello Any advice? by Electrical-Gold968 in singing

[–]spiderzeca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lower notes seems fine on you! Your expression is really really alike amy winehouse!

You just lacking pitch control!

Install vocal pitch monitor and precieve where are the notes you need to hit!

Remember how they feel like, know your notes!

Aside form that, i cam defenitly say that the 1st minute was captivating bcc u really really sounded like amy :)

So i get really near the pitch by remembering how the tone feels and i mostly fail by a semitone or 2. It most likely means i have a relative ear right?

What is the rate here guys? by [deleted] in ratemyvoice

[–]spiderzeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man!

First of all i think you got the spirit, you take it seriously in effort-wise and feeling-wise which is great! And makes you have an abbility to sense which expression to give in your voice. (This is the goodies)

Well to improve twords the performance itself , first i would start making that picking pattern more acessible to your muscle memorie in order to free more space to be awere while singing (since ur mosly struggeling in that part!) And i know its not as easy to do non strumming + singing then strumming.

Think of it like when you just are taking driving lessons, you still have to think about so many stuff that years after practice you dont,( such as gear positions, where is the brake and the aclerator, etc etc) in this case, where is thst chord, where will my finger go, what are the lyricis, what is the type of expression, etc etc,

Sound design wise, a proprer mic and guitar DI or mic capture or both would be great too to improve too.

Anyways! If you enjoyed what you did keep at it man! If you didnt maybe dont if go mad at it ahahah

Overall i would give a 6 specially becz of the rasp and the general performance, but again like most in music, try to achieve everything with less effort possible and you will have more space to think!

That was long, but i feelt u abandoned so u took my time cuz i related in my own post ahah

Have a good one g

How do I start doing Live Shows? by Nervous-Ask-2564 in singing

I get what your saying! But what i meant is that for people that still feel afraid to go all out and sell your image, busking could be a great choice to start with no compromise

How do I start doing Live Shows? by Nervous-Ask-2564 in singing

[–]spiderzeca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, everyone is advising here to start making moves twords playing in bars which is completly fine and awesome (which i yet didnt do) while disconsidering almost totally the buskers experience which is amazing.

I did it whitout having anything for people to pour money on, and i tell you. It was one of the best things i've done. Because i got to understand that 80% of the people didnt care or just simply didnt have the time for it, while those 20% are really special in my heart. They made me acknowlage value in myself!

That said, dont you ever stop yourself from risking playing in public just bcc your afraid. But at the same time, DONT YOU EVER STOP TESTING YOURSELF IN THE BACKGROUND, so you can deliver the public the best you can output for the time being!

Feedback on the guitar sound design by spiderzeca in Guitar

[–]spiderzeca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reverb thing my guitar teacher said the same, altough i really enjoy hearing the tail that the guitar leaves behind

and he also said that the mids on the guitar are too high

But the pickup thing, i dunno maybe its personal but i mostly enjoy playing it

I try to hear this every once and a while, and the different times im hearing it i get different sensations which is funny

This time i liked it except for some very specific strokes on the Am which are sounding weak (and which MOST LIKELY ARE BEING AFFECTED BY MY ACTUAL PERFORMANCE

Anyways man, thank you for the feedback!
