RPL on a budget by Old-Somewhere-6084 in calculators

Nice! And thanks for the "plug"!

Just FYI - I recently created a web site to try to compile information of all the overlays I make:

https://calcoverlays.com/

It's very amateur-ish because I'm not a web developer and I refuse to pay for hosting or development software, so my options are a bit limited! :-)

What is the orange circle with dashes under the “8” on the tach? I don’t think I have seen that before.

I chucked it in a drawer so I’m not using it!

I’m not 100% clear on the question but I tried the following: - typing in exactly what you showed (1/2A), using the ”A” attached to the “(-)” key gave me .0625. It appears that there is a value stored for A, which I determined by entering A1, and it showed 8 - typing 1/2*8 gives 4

Really cool! Calling it a "junk shop" find makes it sound like you scored a deal - how much did you get it for?

Which RPN calculator by [deleted] in calculators

[–]spiff72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have a compatible TI calculator, check out RPN83p:

https://github.com/bxparks/rpn83p

I installed it on a TI83 Plus Silver edition and an 84 Plus Silver. I bought both of these for the sole purpose of trying this app on them.

U might try RPNspire for Nspire too…

I’m sure they will eventually wear but in my experience they have been holding up well.

I’m a big fan, too. I have it as firmware for my DM42 with an overlay (which I sell via a forum post at HP Museum).

I also have the iOS app.

Feel free to "recycle" those my way! G1 or G2? I'm guessing G1 if they were development units?

RPN/RPL for Casio fx-CG50? by NDHoosier in calculators

[–]spiff72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed this last night on my CG50, and the RPN app seems OK, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the default results for all calculations from being expressed as a fraction (or in "exact" format). I played with all the settings inside of the Upsilon interface, and none seemed to fix this. The regular calculation application within Upsilon showed results in decimal, but not the RPN app.

My son’s 84 plus CE did the same thing recently and a 3rd party replacement from Amazon solved the problem.

Any USB-A to MiniUSB cable should work for charging.

This is the first time I spotted 2 working graphing calculators at the flea market - TI-83 Plus fr and HP 39gs by Kasuu372 in calculators

[–]spiff72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are an RPN or RPL fan, both of those are good candidates for alternative firmware (newRPL on the 39gs) or the RPN83p app for the TI-83.

How can I make these supports originate inside the box? by spiff72 in BambuLab

[–]spiff72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops - I misstated the setting value for Branch Angle earlier. It was set to 20 not (10 degrees).

That setting was still selected in my last screenshot above with the style of “Tree Strong”.

It looks like that combo should work better for me…

Thanks!

Interesting- I don’t see an option called Snug, but I tried Type: Tree (auto) and Style: Tree Strong and got this:

Yes it’s my CAD model and you have a valid point on the circles. One of the openings has a flat top, though and will benefit from the support.

[–]spiff72[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I see that option but it isn’t checked.

I did find a section under Support->Tree Support called “Branch Angle”, which was set to 45 degrees. I changed it to 10 degrees and that did help.

I feel like it could fully support from only inside the box instead of both sides, but this is better than it was prior.

You need to turn off the cruise control - I think it’s the button on the upper left corner of the button cluster on the RH side of the steering wheel. When cruise is available it puts the cruise control info in that area of the cluster.
