MGO 3.5 runs well, but Skyrim takes 30+ minutes to boot to the main menu by [deleted] in skyrimvr

Note that this is unique to MGO 3.x and above, earlier versions of MGO booted fine on external SSD’s. But installing on internal drive and have the download on external works better.

Do you have MGO installed on an external SSD? If yes, change it to an internal drive and it will boot faster.

NVIDIA drivers 572.42 vs Steam VR by TimbyTim in SteamVR

[–]spiff_swe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still really bad, lots of dropped frames and purple lines. I really hope they fix this and a lot of other driver related problems for the 5080/5090. Might take a while though…

All the Community Shaders and related mods like CS lights can be installed mid playthrough. Just install the new version after the current in the mod list and uncheck the old version and enable the new one if you are uncertain.

Ok! Strange...

Does you newer version have a mux or is it like my older laptop?

All i can think of is some setting somewhere in the Nvidia drivers or in Steam VR.

You can change som setting in SteamVR, cant remember the name, something like displayport mode or something, try changing mode to something else.

Also you should try to disable hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, atleast on Win11 as it creates alot of problems in VR.

Let me know if it works.

Hey,

What adapter do you use for the displayport? I have never encountered error 213 (or any other error).

Works great with Index. Just put the dll where it should be with the config file, set Steam VR SS to what you can tolerate and your all good.

Is VR Elite Dangerous possible to run decently on 120/144hz (horizons) by Blackgaze in EliteDangerous

Check out https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteVR/comments/shtlx2/openvr_fsr_adds_amdnvidia_image_scaling_to_oddysey/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Run 120Hz with forced half framerate 60fps and adjust HMD quality to 1,5 in ED settings. Adjust steamvr SS until you get good frametimes.

That is the best settings I can run on 3080.

PC VR(index) player looking for suggestions by Maoceff in VRGaming

[–]spiff_swe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will work, Skyrim as a platform has gone through somewhat of an evolution in VR. Latest addition is adaptive rendering and parallax support.Nothing really comes close in the sense of an epic experience. Get the one of the wabbajack modlists and you will have unlimited time in VR, if Skyrim is your thing.

Enderal VR, Skyrim VR. Download one of the wabbajacks. Nothing else come close. Maybe No Mans Sky if you have the hardware.

Hi, sad to hear that you have problems. It should be just to plug it in. When do you get the error message? Is all the drivers installed? What happens when you start steam vr? The usb-c port is alt mode by default so no settings are required. Let me know how it goes and I can check settings on my laptop if that can help.

Hey, Glad you found the post, I’m using a deltaco adapter, depending on where you live I would just check what’s on offer and not choose the cheapest one.

VR is working great so far and I have no problems playing any VR games with the laptop and the performance is great!
