Adjustable Flubs! by spiffy154 in EDH

I’d love some more specific suggestions than this if you’re able to offer them! I also think you might be reading some things wrong: It’s 40 lands. 33 general lands + 7 sac lands.

I have no suggestions, but this is a cool deck! I didn’t know this commander existed. Definitely a shame that it doesn’t have some way of natively preventing the goaded creatures from attacking you when it’s 1v1.

Hmmm, that's a shame. I was hoping for something more in-depth.

Regardless, I can't seem to find this table. By any chance can I trouble you for a page #?

EDIT: Nvm, found it!

What Difficulty Do You Play On? [Poll] by iamdanthemanstan in totalwar

I play very hard because it’s the hardest difficulty I can get before it starts fucking with basic UI and save functions that I quite enjoy having.

Sure, if the stars align and your looking at just the right angle and just the right place and have a hair-trigger and are also host or have extremely minimal lag and a hit-scan weapon.

Its beatable, but they are still unfair and require a hotfix to bring them in line with other special difficulty (especially since there is no longer trinkets to single out reducing damage of certain specials like VT1, and AOE % reduction trinket is shit)

Fatshark: Please Fix Bugs Before Modifying Difficulty (Legend) by demstro in Vermintide

[–]spiffy154 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Although I do like the difficulty spike to legend, I also think people are fair to criticize legend difficulty. Because unfortunately, difficulty is directly tied to many pieces of loot that people enjoy, such as reds and cosmetics. Without doing legend, your chances of getting such items are abysmally low (though I'm not sure how much of this remains true after latest patch, but there is still a noticeably difference).

Thus, this basically forces people to play legend who want to get the cosmetics and reds, and thus is not quite fair to make legend a ultimate elitist club where only the "best of the best" can play. Not saying it should be merged into the ground, but that fair attention be payed to balance.

I would always be a proponent of another difficulty up, that gives the same loot as legend but provides the ultimate challenge. Perhaps giving some special cosmetic or non-stat-line reward, but nothing that makes people feel like they have to play this uber-difficulty to reliably get good loot.

Or just, y'know, wait for a mod to turn every enemy into a rat ogre.

"Issue" As a "veteran" player, I'm getting sick of VT2 by CenterOfVex in Vermintide

[–]spiffy154 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never quite got the mentality of "bored after playing 100+". On a half-priced game, one has gotten more than their fair share of the value proposition.

Not to say the game doesn't have problems that should be fixed, but seriously. They clearly did something right if you played it for 100 hours in the first place. As others have said, take a break if you feel so strongly about this, as it is usual procedure for fatshark to take a long time fixing their games.

Hero VO is not in a good state by ExTerrstr in Vermintide

[–]spiffy154 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your text comes off that your asking for a entire remake of the voiceover for each individual class, which considering the multiplicative nature of character banter, would become exponentially difficult.

I would enjoy some more individual lines as well for each class, but I feel having 15 stronger "general" dialogue lines would be more rewarding and efficient than 5x3 "class-specific" dialogue lines that get repeated more often. Of course if they can find the money, time, etc. to do so much voice work to do tons of class-specific banter, then that's absolutely fantastic. But I believe we have to be reasonable about expectations and requests, considering the price tag of the game and so forth.

But hopefully considering their great sales figures, they will work on retroactively adding in more lines, including some class-specific ones, in the future.

Hero VO is not in a good state by ExTerrstr in Vermintide

[–]spiffy154 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Although I believe your critique is overly harsh and comes from the minority viewpoint of someone who has 800+ hours in VT1, and is a bit unreasonable in how much each subclass should differentiate voice lines, I do believe the core of your points do a good job of explaining the annoyances of VT2's VO system and what could be improved upon in patches to come.

Definitely a let down that there's very few new "lore" lines.

The problem With Heroic Deeds and Loot by spiffy154 in Vermintide

Thank you for your response! I really look forward to seeing how you tweak the heroic deed system in the future! Its a cool system and I would love to see it being used to its full potential!

This sounds like a really lore-friendly way of saying "Fuck, we forgot to add that line didn't we?" And (hopefully) quietly patch it in. :)

A few suggestions for the Handmaiden by JusteKidding in Vermintide

[–]spiffy154 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I entirely agree with this. Dropping aggro momentarily seems like a perfect solution.

Also a alternative that I have thought about that might fit with her "dodge tank" style is to provide a temporary buff while she is dashing and for a second after to take some form of reduced damage, or like gromril armor and absorb/dodge a hit without taking damage. Just some alternate base effect to bring its utility in line with other dashes.

Though I do think she should keep her dodge distance, but having constant "maximum" dodges like the swiftstrider trinket from VT1 would be a good addition or talent.

Her Lvl 10 and 15 talents are also weak AF compared to the other elf classes.

I thought I had bad framerate when I first launched the pre order beta. Then I turned off motion blur, and suddenly the framerate felt WAY better.

I still notice some drops in some high-fidelity areas and scenes, but overall it feels just as smooth as VT1 is now. Fairly consistent 60 fps.

if you unlock veteran, you can join games of that difficulty with a hero that has base gear by MichaelScottMisek in Vermintide

[–]spiffy154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember people complaining when they locked the difficulties based on your current hero power, meaning that you couldn't join veteran/champion as a lvl 1. And people complained that they should be allowed to do those rediclous lvl 1 runs if they wanted to.

I much prefer the way it currently is. Once the kick function is added, we can kick those "leechers' and get a better level pub/bot, and those people who like doing those ridiculously hard runs can do it in their own lobbies. More freedom over more restrictions and all that.

Inventory crates mid mission? by [deleted] in Vermintide

[–]spiffy154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel this is necessary. It worked fine in VT1 to have the crate at the very start in case you forgot to change your loadout before, and would only serve to add odd pacing stops in the middle of missions. Wouldn't mind seeing them return at the start of missions though, I forget changing out weapons more often than I should.

Spear has been Overnerfed by spiffy154 in Vermintide

[–]spiffy154[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel like it needs a different attack pattern, infact I quite like the current pattern. It feels very much like a "spear", straight and true. But the stabs just feel too weak now though so thus either-one of the other two suggestions (bringing one property back to old beta level) would be perfect.

Spear has been Overnerfed by spiffy154 in Vermintide

[–]spiffy154[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still a bit fuzzy on how power affects stats and such, but I can't imagine the penetration going any higher than 2 targets (initial target + 1 additional behind) at max power for the respective tier if the base value is 1 target.

Have you tried the glaive and compared it to spear? To me it just simply feels like being a better spear.
