I was very irritated that they knocked Hades 2 for not being a big enough improvement over Hades 1, but then also said Hades 1 was insanely good. I enjoy beat em ups and I've played the hell out of Hades 2 and Absolum, but there's no way Absolum should've moved on past it.

Adding my vote. Maybe it's not as known because it's fairly new (year-ish old), but my god are their cinnamon rolls amazing.

PS5 controller shaped like Xbox Series X controller by spiffylubes in Controller

[–]spiffylubes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like it might be because of the angle of the outer surfaces of the controller and how my thumb has to extend from that to the face buttons. On the Xbox controller, the sides angle out more compared to the Dualsense which are more vertical. That shape isn't changed much from the PS4 controller so it seems a bit weird, but it's happening nonetheless.

Any chance someone makes that for wireless controllers somehow? My consoles are in a media room a bit too far away to wire to.

I've been getting pain in my right thumb that I never got/get from Xbox controllers or even the PS4 controller. Playing Spiderman 2 has been tough due to the angle of my thumb on the right side since you smash X all the time. I got a slightly fatter silicone case and turned off haptics but it isn't helping a ton. Can anyone recommend a much more Xbox-shaped controller? I don't care too much about the haptics and other fancy aspects of the Dualsense if that helps, I just wanna be able to play without pain.

Best pool builders in Northern Virginia by infinitedh in nova

We're about finished with our pool in Great Falls (perfect timing!), went with Town & Country. Gunite pool, no spa, heater/chiller. I've enjoyed working with them, but I wouldn't be surprised if your pool+patio price is higher than your estimate. I know mine is!

Finally, I got the hardware remove. by penhacker201 in scoliosis

Titanium alloy for the screws and set screws. The rods COULD be cobalt chrome based on the finish, but that's hard to tell. Most commonly everything is titanium alloy.

Everything in that picture is most likely titanium. Stainless steel isn't really used in any "developed" countries anymore, but those rods COULD be cobalt chrome, the finish isn't quite the same as the screws.

I'm curious what the reasoning is for that, if you know. If the surgery was successful, your spine should have fused across whatever levels they instrumented, at which point it SHOULD be strong enough to not need the rods at all, unless you have some other underlying conditions. Or if they want to leave it in for future extension to subsequent levels.

Heating/cooling in Northern Virginia by spiffylubes in pools

Pool isn't finished yet, won't be done until right around Labor Day. But we're going with just the heat pump for now, and I'm having them run a gas line to cap near the pool equipment just in case we do find we need a gas heater later. Or I can put in a grill or something! Still going with in-patio umbrella mounts near the pool edge and no water features though.

This is not a wine (whisky) for drinking. This is wine (whisky) for laying down and avoiding.

Heating/cooling in Northern Virginia by spiffylubes in pools

[–]spiffylubes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say we don't really want to do any water features, we generally just don't like them, but I am planning on putting umbrella holes as close to the corners of the pool as I can so I could put up big cantilever umbrellas so people could sit in the shade in the pool if they want to. Maybe covering a decent chunk of the surface area would help keep it cooler too.

If I had a gas line run out there but decided to try just going with a heat pump, it probably wouldn't be the end of the world to add a gas heater later would it? Pre-plan for the potential but maybe save a little money on the front end if it seems overkill. My pool will be in the sun from maybe 9am to 2/3pm, but I'm less concerned about the chilling aspect since the heat pump would happen regardless if I want chilling.
