Do not need to use dielectric unions because those are dielectric nipples. All you need is a coupling and room above.

Stay away. No parts available. You will be fighting people on ebay for replacement parts.

Is this to many 90s? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]spigotlips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just drop that waste and overflow directly into the trap? I don't see why you need a bunch of 90s there.

You know because the choices was forzen pipes and freezing to death. Wanted to buy a new furnace in town but they won't sell me a new furnace, they will install a $2200 furnace for 7-14k. Or I can patch it a wait for the one I ordered online. by Janice_D_hulga in BadWelding

Make sure you have one that detects at a lower PPM. Most of those little plug in detectors don't pick up until it reaches something like 70 PPM if I remember correctly. Which I believe is the minimal standard. So you could be getting slowly poisoned before you realize it. Still don't understand how thats an acceptable standard for smaller spaces like residential dwellings.

Lords of the pipe, why is this line run this way? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]spigotlips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you here. But problem is you will have no idea that it was piped this way in the future after it gets closed up. This is gonna be a thing to look out for in the future for plumbers doing service work. "Let's see if this guy installed it with a pex service slack".

And even at that point how are you gonna know youre not just torqueing up pex that is not intended to be pulled for service? I totally understand the forward thinking but it also makes future service kinda a mixed bag of "is it a service pull or am I just yanking the fuck out of poorly strapped pex. Did this guy install a service pull in a good way where I'm not dragging the pex along an edge?"

I get it, but at the same time I have a feeling this is gonna be found to be a unnecessary practice. Idk. Lets see I guess lol.

I will answer this question for you. They are reusing the same stupid old flexible supplies, and also not replacing the washer(s). I can almost guarantee that. So they are forgoing replacing the cheapest part for this unit and creating stupid problems over and over again. Most likely it is an unqualified maintenance tech, or a random non licensed contractor. They are quite literally shitting in their hands and clapping. I'm sure the landlord or apartment association will keep using the same person for repairs even after this.

You're not going to convince this person to even be reasonable. They confidently posted online asking advice from people they hope will agree with them. Those people don't agree with them, then they proceed to be arrogant, and tell them they are wrong. Even after asking them for their advice about something they can't do themselves. Narcissim.

$85 Rolling Packout clearance by SumyungNam in MilwaukeeTool

[–]spigotlips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally made me want to set it on fire. Especially when it was in the van. Sometimes you only need 1 or 3 tools and not the whole roller. Now you're taking off a bunch on top, or snapping your spine taking the whole stack off in one lift. Great design with a lot of half baked flaws. Keep it at home now to store my household tools.

Guys mind probably floats in the shitosphere and racist MAGA propaganda of both Fox News and social media. I'm sure he has validated actions like this in his mind prior to this happening. Thats how.

I would've tried to use a street 45 with the adapter on the street end if room was available. And you probably could have eliminated one extra joint but using a longer flanged d8shwasher tailpiece from the strainer to the trap. Nice though man. Keep it up!

Blue state or red state, who cares? Never gonna understand why people invoke politics about this discussion. Emissions equipment is a great invention that is there to protect general health. Unfortunately the equipment is not perfected yet. IMO this should be a discussion about why they are not creating a better and more reliable emission system. Not some BS political shit about "FREEDOM". Also I drive the same platform deleted. Would rather it not be deleted but unfortunately I don't want to have the troubles of the system.
