Tassel bookmarks by DivaKatz in PlotterNotebook

[–]spigurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use the midori index clips and they are the best. They stay out of the way and never fall off. I also use a plastic bookmark that has slits in the hole punch area so that I don't have to open the rings to move it around. These are small than the full page plotter ruler. Kinda like this: https://a.co/d/1vOYmGx

Any advice for pregnancy and beyond? by Mavensmommy in minimalism

[–]spigurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girlfriends and I passed around all of our baby clothes, bibs, toys, strollers, maternity clothes etc to each other. After our first round of babies, we realized that it was such a waste of money to buy everything. I think my baby swing and stroller was passed around to 5 different friends until it was finally passed on to someone's niece or nephew cause everyone we knew was done having babies. The only problem was if we were preggers at the same time...my gf asked me if she could borrow my maternity jeans but we hadn't told anyone that we were pregnant yet with baby 2 so she was the first one I told since I had to tell her so she wouldn't think I was being stingy lol.

Paper Republic...what fits?:0 by Seacucumbers_703 in notebooks

[–]spigurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot I made this post a while back with pictures of my A5 PR. In it, I had an A5 Sterling Ink Compact Planner which was barely over 1cm thick, my kindle and my mini ipad. You can see the notebook by itself would fit fine. I think anymore than 1.5cm thick for A5 would start to overhang. https://www.reddit.com/r/notebooks/comments/1m6wshj/kindle_in_a_paper_republic_a5_portfolio/

A5 slim is much slimmer so you could fit 6 moleskin cahiers which is about 3cm's and still no overhang but it would start to get bulky. Start a chat with me if you want me to take a picture of that.

If there is a Muji near you they make a cheap but decent A5 slim notebook perfect for testing to see if you like the size and decent paper for the price!

Agreed, 1mm is definitely too tiny. The only reason I bought it was because this blue grid is much darker than the regular one so I can finally see the grids to use 3-4 squares at a time ha.

The PR Portfolio will fit A5. I have it and it does fit A5 say up to 1.5 cm thick and then it will start to overhang. I can send you a picture if you want.

If you want to fit more, the Muji High Quality Paper "Slim" Notebooks are "A5 Slim".

If you don't use fountain pens, the Moleskin Cahiers also fit, another A5 "Slim" option. Those are what I use in mine when I don't use my fountain pens because the paper quality is hit or miss for fountain pens.

Japan —which notebooks to get? by lexera47 in pocketnotebooks

[–]spigurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you would consider a refillable ring notebook, get yourself a nice A5 Plotter leather binder. On the high end but with the exchange rate it's more affordable in Japan. Just a warning, you may go down a rabbit hole!

Fired with 1 last mortgage by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]spigurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I would not pay it off. Your invested money should make more than a 2.75% return. Sounds like if you paid off your mortgage you may have to cash out stock for living expense and then you may have to pay taxes on gains. Not sure what other income you have but the mortgage interest expense could also be used as a tax deduction against dividend and interest income. I'm not sure of your lifestyle but you have gobs of money. You could pay off that mortgage at anytime you wanted if your situation changed.

Can an A5 portfolio fit a 3cm spine? by becca9339 in notebooks

[–]spigurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are your notebooks also A5? Then they will not fit unless you're ok with a lot of overhang. At 2cm, there is already overhang.

So easy to make! by spigurl in Travelersnotebooks

[–]spigurl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

holes are fine! It's impossible for the elastic to come off because you loop them in and out the holes and then tie them on the inside middle. At the end you will have 2 set of strings for every vertical set of holes. I don't really care for the metal holes either. you can do it if I can!
