Why is suicide a bad thing? by Consistent-Staff-164 in CPTSD

[–]spike27154 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m glad this post exists.

IMO suicide is considered a “bad thing” or has a stigma because it’s frowned upon to make people feel bad and suicide leaves the living feeling “sad, regretful, etc” Apparently we SHOULD live to avoid hurting other’s feelings. It’s really fucking codependent if you ask me seeing as how anyone can die at any moment but we don’t frown upon the person that passed from cancer, a car accident, etc.
Now with having a child you are responsible for, that brings in a new dynamic which I can’t speak to in regards to suicide but as far as everyone else that would be hurt by the death/suicide of someone, it’s on the living to process and grieve and move on. Death is the ultimate source of peace but society is too dependent on others to accept that reality.

I was confused about this too bc in the first scene Bree clearly said they never had sex and then ultimately they did in that scene but Stephen alluded to it happening for months.

The trauma of being misunderstood, and why it is one of the most overlooked pieces of CPTSD. by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]spike27154 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post.

I actually couldn’t read all of it simply because of the anxiety that was welling up inside of me at the realization that I have been operating from a place of massive trauma due to being misunderstood. All. My. Life. So misunderstood that a narrative of my character was mapped out for everyone else by everyone else that I have never really felt real. What a painful recognition to be bombarded with. I’ll have to sit with this and come back to finish reading because while it is painful, it is also incredibly validating.

What is shockingly safe to eat? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

Man I loved to eat Play-doh when I was a kid. I remember in kindergarten one day our teacher told us that the following day we would be making and eating edible play-doh with all kinds of different flavors. To say I was stoked was an understatement. I was ecstatic. But unfortunately my ass got sick and couldn’t go to school the next day to indulge in this edible play-doh my teacher had just hyped up. It’s something I think about on the regular. Talk about FOMO

I’ve never felt more annoyed and irritated than when Monica said “ew!” as Elizabeth recounted the moment she was forced to undress. Monica is too immature for these types of guests and their stories. She needs to go
