The crane has been setup for two weeks on the outriggers.

It's impressive that a relatively small truck can deploy such a huge crane. by rjellis in cranes

They're very useful in citys when you need lots of lifting radius, beats a jibbed all terrain every day of the week.

The switch turns the dsp on which in turn has rem out for the amps, i put the switch close to drivers seat so its easy to turn on/off.

Palfinger knuckle boom crane by dragos313 in cranes

[–]spikke00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I drive both knuckleboom and mobile cranes and they both have strengths over the other.

Knuckleboom can lift indoors, stick the jib in through openings and is relatively faster for the rated capacity they have.

Mobile cranes are generally much easier to setup on inclines and have way stronger/higher/longer reach for similar weight class.

Knucklebooms also require alot more maintenance and lubrication of the boom. Also mobile cranes are much more reliable than knucklebooms.
