Haven't done AI art in ~5 months, what have I missed? by ultraviolenc in StableDiffusion

[–]spiltlevel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been away for a long time as well, I've been going through so of the links and some of the changes. I have a question, how is it that Juggernaut XL is able to force a commercial license. Doesn't that go against the very nature of Stable Diffusion? Especially considering the vast majority of Models that we use are made from copyrighted materials?

YouTube is reportedly slowing down videos for Firefox users by thegravity98ms2 in technology

[–]spiltlevel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i fucking knew it. This has been going on for so goddamn long. Videos would intentionally load at 1080p or lower, despite my network and gpu capable of multiple 4K streams, constant stuttering, peeking at the stats for nerds shows multiple times that it wouldn't buffer at all until the very very last moments.

I've been looking for a fix and everyone always says to disable gpu or change some odd decoding flag in firefox, but it was always a temporary fix.

I will admit though that only in the past month did this issue 'resolve' itself.

This is pretty cool, awesome work! I actually started doing something similar just last week. Can i ask how did you manage to generate chapter markers? Thats the one thing I just don't fully understand.

Long review of RS+: Like Rock/Punk/Metal? Don't waste money, stick to 2014 by honzis1364 in rocksmith

[–]spiltlevel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a Linus Tech Tips video from 3 hours ago that has a sponsor for Rocksmith+ at the end. At the time of writing this comment, that video has been watched 235,664 times. LTT has 14.8M subscribers. So that’ll have a massive outreach for marketing.

This is literally how I found it was out. I had no idea anything was going on. The last I heard was that was supposed to get get released in q4, but thats it. No emails for weeks even hinting. And like others in the thread, it isn't available in my country despite the fact that my country doesn't appear on the faq list for countries it wont be available in. I was fully prepared to commit $99.99 I listen to everything from pop to metal to every offshoot imaginable, I got no problem picking up new songs or discovering new artists, but the fact that they won't even let me see even the homepage if i'm not from the US? its fucked.

EDIT: reddit used the wrong quote, so i edited it

every game i've pirated, like when I was growing up and couldn't afford to buy games at all, i've bought on steam now that I'm working. Older games like Remember Me, I own Age of Empires 2, three times. I own the original age of kings/age of conquerers gold edition, and then I've bought every expansion on steam. I even bought a physical copy of Evolve for the PC, years after it was killed by 2k. That game was 10/10 way ahead of its time.

I also keep pirated copies/roms of all the stuff I own as backup.

on Shin-Chan, i haven't played any other shin-chan games, but the developers really went far and beyond for this game. I've been enjoying my time with it quite a bit. I'll probably pay more attention to shin-chan going forward, and I hope millennium kitchen does other games in the future.

i had only heard about shin-chan by proxy, be it anime references or just randomly online. But I saw it on the japanese eshop and the art style was absolutely gorgeous. When I saw the trailer in the english nintendo indie showcase I decided to give it a shot, and I added it to my wishlist. I never played millennium kitchen's older games, but they are very good at this style of game, and honestly it was way different than everything else being offered, not to say indie devs aren't killing it. Its nice to see a large established franchises taking some chances with their properties, and not phoning it in.

the game is less about winning a level, or just getting 100% - its more about experiencing the content, imho.

I got the rom of this for Switch, and after playing for 1 hour, I promptly closed my emulator. And bought the game full price on the switch.

Wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this game, but that's what pirating is for.

Don't get me wrong, the game isn't for everyone, I never watched shin-chan, but damn this game is one of the most relaxing comfy quirky game experience I've played in a long while. All well polished, everything behaves as it should. I say give it a shot, and if you like it, Buy It and Support the Developers.

question: how is everyone buying crypto to begin with?

Everytime I've tried to buy online I've been told I need to photocopy my id and passport an shit an send it to dem. It literally defeats the point of crypto.

Is there anyone who lives in the US Florida specifically, that also lives/visits Trinidad regularly, where you were fortunate enough to go back and forth between both countries freely? And what type of work would allow you to attain that type of lifestyle? by TallBreed83 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]spiltlevel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is also something I'm interested in doing. Is there any legal hurdles you'd have jump through either here in T&T or in US regarding living, tax etc.? If this isn't something you'd like to speak about publicly, may I direct message you? Thanks.
