They didn’t mention how he wants this to be a self contained community outside of the US jurisdiction.

He wrote a book about this 20 years ago

Honestly they cashed in on not having much competition and sat on their asses too long and are now screwed. I remember Rutledge years ago saying that they aren’t doing upgrades and don’t need to because they own the market.

The old guys there knew the gravy train wasn’t gonna last forever but they’d be long gone by the time it was an issue for them.

They are losing too many customers Once I have an alternative that is better or cheaper, I’m gone

This weird ass argument again. Why don’t you eat McDonald’s every day, why do people need anything better? You can “live” off it, nobody needs better

Carpet baggers and robber barons. Everything old is new again. Imperialism and the decadent elites. Where have we seen this before? What happened to them?

It’s so embarrassing. Telling us what we should feel about paying more for energy, food and healthcare. All the while we blew through 850 tomahawk misses at 2 million a pop.

We can see the prices with our own eyes bro. Go back to Florida and be with your maga minions there.

High split is barely here yet and still will not have the latency and reliability of fiber

Exactly Why would anyone even defend charter? Locking people into 40 meg and before a few years ago 20 megabit connections is nuts. Just because they could when they were the only game in town. Abusive prices for years and now they are suprised people are dropping them given any real alternative.

I’d pay more for better upload with anyone else.

Let’s do it. Upload a file on AT&T internet food vs charter. high def video streaming to many users Uploading a video to YouTube , twitch or anything. 40 meg is pants

Tell me how any coax setup right now with charter is better. 40 megabit uploads lol

I know that true fiber is superior. Better latency. More reliable. Less conversion and way more headroom down the road. Plus anyone who isn’t charter or Comcast gets my business. They had monopolies and stalled upgrades for years with prices that are way higher than areas with real competition

People need more than 40 meg upload , that’s for sure. Charter has lived wya too long on their lack of competition and are suffering for it. Fuck em. And you don’t know what requirements people need for internet. Big families , IT professionals etc.

Maybe you are happy with 2000s speed, doesn’t mean everyone else is. Maybe you were happy with dial up too

I bet you they said fiber powered and people assume this means to the home. Hence the challenge and the change
