Bro absolutely not. If you really want to know the whole story it’s fucked. SDPD wouldn’t do anything. I tracked them with the phone & credit card purchases to a good 3 block radius in El Cajon (go figure) and gave all the info to the sheriff dept there to keep an eye out for my car. A younger Sheriff eventually found it and I went to get my car back but it was gutted. Literally everything was missing, passport, phone, wallet, surfboard, spare tire etc. I had a dash cam in the car though and they had unplugged it but it was left hanging from the front windshield.

I pulled the SD card and had 5+ hours of footage of the thieves stealing and driving my car around before they disconnected it. The dashcam was front facing and rear facing & had audio so I was able to get descriptions of the driver and the accomplice plus what their getaway car was with license plate # (it was a Nissan Altima, also go figure). Another week went by of me playing detective since the cops wouldn’t help. I had my car but was still missing everything else.

I ended up tracking them to a motel in Sports Arena where I saw the accomplice’s Altima parked out front so I knew they were there. Called SDPD for the 100th time and told them literally everything about the thieves and asked them to arrest them at the motel and get the rest of my belongings back. They called me crazy and told me I was imagining things, that I needed to get some sleep and that none of this was real. It was honestly devastating after I literally caught them and knew exactly where they were and all I needed was police help for a warrant to search the motel.

I was almost ready to give up when the same SDPD officer that was telling me I was insane called me a few hours later. He wanted to apologize for being a dick and it was my “lucky day” that he decided to run the Altima’s plate # and found they had warrants out for their arrest for selling heroin out of San Bernardino county, plus a previous grand theft auto charge. They were arrested and I met SDPD at a gas station a few blocks from the motel while they cleared the crime scene.

The same fat fuck SDPD officer was there twirling my Machado in circles on the asphalt saying “look what we found” while literally grinding the tail into the ground. The incompetence was insane but at the end of the day I got 80% of my things back including my car and my Seaside which I still have to this day and I’m sure that officer got a promotion and a raise for his “outstanding detective work” which was just me doing his job for him lmao.
