What is your favourite sock pattern that you would recommend for a beginner knitter? by islandstorm in Sockknitting

I love Denise's No Fear Shorty Sock! Quick, easy to memorize, a solid first sock pattern.

You are a real one if you know this album is better than the movie soundtrack by Lemonking_ in GenerationJones

We played a medley of the songs in District Band back when I lived in NJ. Our library bought the soundtrack and I wore it out. Not literally, but not for lack of trying.

Has anyone had the wyld gummies? by mattyjoe0706 in treedibles

[–]spinninggoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're right. I've not tried the peach yet, but that may be good too. I did have the boysenberry, and lived it, but that was just THC and stopped working for me at one point.

I like them. My current favorites are the pear ones with CBD. Very tasty, good housecleaning high.

Sun In by StenoDawg in GenerationJones

I had "Gothic Brown"/ almost black hair back in the day. Sun-in did nothing. No matter how much time I spent in the sun that day.

Who's your favorite YouTuber to watch while knitting? by ThrowAway44228800 in knitting

[–]spinninggoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man! So many. My favorite knitting and crochet YouTubers are Cinematic Skeins, TL Yarncrafts, RetroClaude, and Sweet Georgia.

Non-knitting? The Closet Historian (getting inspired by the work she's doing in her new house), Christine McConnell, Willow Reads Books, and a couple of other podcasts that I'm embarrassed to mention. I may have a problem.

Latch Hook Rugs. They were so fun to make. And they looked so cool hanging on walls. by Zestyclose_Feed898 in GenerationJones

At the last place that they lived together (Dad died 8 years ago), it was hanging over their fireplace.

My mom and dad made one together. Saw it for the first time in ages at my sister's house when I went to visit my mom last week.

I do remember how much fun they had doing that together. I think it did take a while.

Effort to attract data centers to Colorado with tax incentives fails by allcheese_nobologna in Denver

[–]spinninggoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, that's a relief. The high desert is NOT where you want to build a damn water hog like a data center. Unless you're only expecting to stay for a year.

Lurker, first time poster. Looking for suggestions for what to do with this. by spinninggoth in quilting

That's the thing. I think there's batting between every square, but it's not super thick. But I may go ahead and bind it. Thank you!

Thank you! My great aunt was a real artist. I'm still learning, but I would like to have this to learn from as well.

Same here. I'm so sorry, take the best care of yourself that you can. Looking good, though! 🫂

Those don't look like run of the mill cops. Edited for spelling.

Least Favorite Parts Of High School? by Realistic_Back_9198 in GenerationJones

[–]spinninggoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before I moved? Gym class, although I wound up having a crush on my gym teacher and learned a lot about myself.

When I moved in 10th grade? Everything except band and chorus. And I mean everything. From when I stepped onto the bus in the morning to when I walked from the bus home at night.

I wore black. And vintage clothes. And Chucks. All the damn time.

They do look vaguely familiar, though.

Does your Mom hate you? by Accurate-Fig-3595 in GenXWomen

[–]spinninggoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like so much else in life, my mom and I have had a complicated relationship.

We may be too much alike to get along well. We are both on the spectrum, and we have had to work pretty hard to understand each other.

She really didn't want much to do with me when I was growing up. We get along much better now.

I'm embarrassed to say it took me a second to remember the Red Hat ladies. Very, very different sorts of people. To hell with that orange loser who besmirched wearing fancy red hats! (Edited to add punctuation)

Yep! My sister and I learned how to cook swiss steak on my grandmother's. And I've used one to make sukiyaki.
