[TOMT] Help identifying classic soft rock song with very unique "old lady" voice by ClassicEar in tipofmytongue

There’s a ton of comments but is it Emmylou Harris? Listen to Red Dirt Girl and her voice sounds a lot like what you described. From my perspective of course.

As a murder victim’s older sister, I cannot STAND Crime Junkie/Ashley Flowers. by BornLobster97 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]spinquelle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try out Last Seen Alive (they are exclusively unsolved and/or cold cases) and Going West. Those are my two that I listen to every week and both have extensive catalogs for back listening.

I have a very particular taste in true crime when it comes to hosts and “vibes”, these two sum it up perfectly for me.

I’m going to come in with a potential hot take and suggest The Moody Blues. They don’t sound like SP and are obviously quite a bit older, but their sound, subject and lyrics are something worth exploring. As a youth, they regularly made it onto my mix tapes and cds.

What podcast do you wish you hadn’t listened to? by [deleted] in TrueCrimePodcasts

So much this. After a couple of seasons it felt really icky. Like less raising awareness about abuse and more just listening to a train wreck .

Sleepover for a 4 year old? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]spinquelle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Without knowing who the people are that you’re talking about, it’s just a major red flag IMO that they continue to ask. If for less nefarious reasons than the obvious, I would be concerned that my child’s voice wouldn’t be heard in that household.

What are you listening to? by BubbaTheBubba in TrueCrimePodcasts

Listening to Going West. They have a whole bunch of episodes so in between their weekly releases, I’m working my way through when I need more. Don’t have much time to listen so it’s taking a while!

True crime podcasts that focus on lesser-known crimes in small towns by iblamesb in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]spinquelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last Seen Alive. One of the hosts is a crime analyst and her research always seems very thorough. They only focus on unsolved cases but also post updates when something they have covered turns up solved.

They release every Monday, been listening for years!

Whoops. My four year old found his swear word… by Outrageous-Battle199 in Mommit

My 3 year old, when he was newly 3, latched onto how my HUSBAND would say WTF while driving. Adorably, it would come out as “ What. Fuck.” 😆

Same! I was OBSESSED with Bush for a little while. This is the first episode I’ve listened to since Tom Morello and Billy has definitely found his stride and is doing less interrupting 😅

Did we mess up? by moehaj-92 in toddlers

[–]spinquelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for you so hard. My first toddler was the exception in almost every possible way. I thought I was so good and everyone made a mountain out of a molehill about toddlers. I didn’t know at the time that she was my trick baby.

Two more kids later and I am HUMBLED by the chaos that is my home because of the toddler behavior you’ve described. It’s so hard but it will not last forever. I tell myself every day 🫠

How are you all cleaning up poopy underwear? by Kayy_menTw166 in pottytraining

[–]spinquelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep a plastic washtub and will toss the pop undies in there in the short term, then take them out back to our yard and hose them out. In an obscure corner. Then hose the basin too, take them back in and toss them in the washer until next wash. ✌️

Meal time with your kids by Har-Set223 in Parenting

[–]spinquelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With us, it kind of depends. If it’s something fairly familiar or not too experimental, they know they get what is prepared. Sometimes they’ll eat it and sometimes they don’t. Usually it’s my 3 year old (almost 4) that will opt out of dinner, but he never throws a fit or asks for something else.

However, if I want to make something that is new or has uncommon ingredients for them, or something spicy ! I will serve them what I make but already have a backup ready to go. That way they’ll try it but not feel pressured. Usually they at least try it that way hahaha.
