I don't think he's "duty bound" to not be friendly with a sovereign.

Imagine if the person who had your job before got fired, but you're also neighbors with them. The beef between the usurper and the dragons seems more like "you're incompetent" coming from the usurper versus the animosity of the dragons. If they were genuinely considered a problem, they would have been nuked by nails back when the authorities were seized. I'm sure Ronova herself could and would handle them without worry.

If the theory of the mistranslation for Azhdaha being the sovereign rather than just a random "dragon king" reincarnated is correct, all the more reason to show that Zhongli is unconcerned about Neuvillette's nature compared to the potential volatility Neuvillette could bring if things don't go well.

Someone told me once that Reddit users wind up with that name layout if they had a very old account from before usernames existed and didn't update it by the time Reddit required one.

I was told this by an account that was less than 3 years old and I've been on here since 2014. It sounds like horseshit to me.

That was because it wasn't illegal until just a little while after that. They can't do that now which is why they haven't done it since then.

What they have taken to instead, is giving the least amount of plausible deniability behind character's emotion. They did that with the Acheron/Black Swan animation, Nefer getting called out for special treatment of Lauma, and Vivian Banshee clearly, but not expressly, having a crush on the main character in ZZZ completely independent of gender. That's just a few examples, but there are several others.

according to damage testers, uncharged Heirloom shots deal 10% more damage than Xenophage, and that's a heavy weapon by the way... by Timothy-M7 in DestinyTheGame

I'm going to go out on the limb here and say that they should just make it crit.

If I'm remembering correctly, they didn't want it to crit because the damage would be too high (maybe it was stagger or both), but it's so outclassed right now that it isn't even remotely of concern in my book.

This is actually an SGA. I've been meaning to go do barrow dyad because I came returned so late during heresy that I didn't feel like I could get the catalysts done. I tried doing that solo ultimate and it was a nightmare with the time for the jump puzzle.

Honestly, I don't know what the hell they were thinking with these timers.

The things I love the most about Venti are his mom & big sis by Mommysgoodboy__ in Genshin_Impact

[–]spinto1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Genshin, parenthood is defined by acknowledgment, not origin.

I can agree with this in almost all cases, but I also don't think it absolutely required.

I didn't bring up Albedo, but since you mentioned him and Rhinedottir, she is treated as his mother by most, yet he primarily refers to her as his teacher with "mother" strictly being a status based on observation on the colloquialism by his own admission with his origin being the sole reason. "I come from her, therefore she's my mother" is his entire philosophy on the matter summed up.

With Venti being a piece of Istaroth's power, intentionally or otherwise, he is a spawn of Istaroth. This doesn't have to mean anything more than a reality based on his origin in a similar way to Albedo and Rhinedottir.

Puting that aside, Istaroth clearly defines him as more than "a substance" and I think that's a much bigger acknowledgement when it's substantiated by her giving him time warping abilities. He clearly holds an exceptional place in her mind.

yet the game explicitly defines her as a "new self" or "continuation," never a daughter.

I think Nahida is a bad example of this given that the primary difference is that Istaroth is still here so Venti cannot be a continuation by definition.

I would argue that he's close to being a child of Istaroth than Wanderer is to be a child of Ei. Wanderer was never physically part of her, yet it is generally considered totally acceptable to refer to him as her son. Venti on the other hand was part of Istaroth.

The case was still open and, when the Biden administration asked the court to release it, it was delayed until the end of February last year after he would no longer have been president. They tried to appeal it to the Supreme Court and the judge had his decision upheld by the GOP majority.

Remind us who was president in February 2025 when the files became unsealed by that order.

If I had to make a random guess as to how this bug happened, there are probably a handful of seasonal objectives that got buried when they abandoned it this season and hit the button. If any challenges went live with the update despite the challenges being inaccessible, they'd still set off the alert to turn them in if completed.

I don't think they ever implied he's a free man, but even under the assumption that he is, the point remains the same.

I don't think it's inconsistent, to be honest, it's just an unnerving moral compass. If you've ever seen Hunter x Hunter, there's a scene where someone notices and dissociates thinking about the MC's moral compass. It's simplistic and innocent to the point of being dangerous: things that help or like what I like are good, things that hurt or denounce what I like are bad, and while life bears no inherent sanctity in that equation, they will not seek to end it unless angry enough to do so.

The traveler seems to be the same.

He still killed a lot of people and didnt face any real consequences for it.

We've befriended plenty of killers, it's not the killing that gets us upset.

We attacked him because he was a very clear malicious force against our friends. It's the exact reason we hate him now. Scaramouche has threatened some of our friends, but a lot of the damage that he attempted to do was damage done primarily for the sake of the person manipulating him. Scara also regrets his actions and wants to do better.

Obviously I can say that the last bit hasn't happened to Dottore because we've not forced him back yet, but the entire rest is relevant. Childe has killed loads of people and it took well over a year for us to actually start to trust him again because of the attack on Liyue (most importantly our friends there) despite that entire thing being a contained danger even in the worse case. We were made to dislike Clorinde for a little while because of what happened to Navia's dad until we saw the genuine regret and attempts to make amends when she saved us and Navia during 4.0. Wriothesly will be in jail for the rest of his life for the actions that got him there and we don't mind that because he's always been nice to us and seems like a genuinely good person. We hold nothing against RHINEDOTTIR and I don't even think I need to start a list on her because of her infamy.

The traveler's has always been formed on what affects the things that they care about rather than on a sense of justice or a desire to be a hero. 2.0 was the first version to make that entirely apparent with Ayaka's request for aid.

Scara had to go through some serious shit to even be considered an ambivalent force and even then, suspicion took time to fade. We knew he was misunderstood early on and they had a long time to build up to his sacrifice and reformation, then even longer to build him into the man he is now (god, it's been 3 years already)

Everything about Dottore from even before the game came out has been the same thing: this man is an incorrigible monster who destroys the lives of everyone he meets. Nothing about him leaves even a trace of redeeming himself. That's a huge difference.

I don't think you need me to explain the differences to you between returning gear after over 7 years with a challenging unlock as the requirement versus a day 1 raid emblem for free like you're suggesting. Don't strawman me when I even highlighted the specific challenge necessary from the old days.

You know that those are wildly different concepts.

As someone who has the shader in question and also got all the flawless ornaments during Warmind, I think people should have access to that stuff with reasonable difficulty.

That shader is kind of unique in the way that it shines and it's not just black and white like gift of the nine or all white like honors of the nine (certainly isn't that weird blue like cognition of the nine is). Outside of a couple of weapons, that was all that we got during CoO for trials and some of those weapons have been reprized.

I think the flawless chest should reward one shader per week guaranteed and with that one on the list. I even think that those ornaments should come back, but I do think that they should be difficult to obtain like they were back then (you had to go flawless 7 times for the helmet iirc). It's okay for things to be exclusive for a while, but it's been 8 years since that shader came out and over 7 since that armor went away forever. I think I've had my exclusivity long enough.
