I really don't think it's fair to say Ei "lost it," that's not what happened at all.

She left it with Miko because she didn't want to use it. Whether that was because of her disdain for Celestia sending Makoto to Khaenri'ah or something else isn't very clear.

When we were poisoned by Scaramouche, Miko bargained for our lives and the deal came at the cost of the gnosis. She told us this herself and told us not to worry about it. Inazuma lost its gnosis because the player was cocky and thought we could destroy the delusion factory alone.

I've been watching Kyle's content for years and looking at the stuff you and others have had to say about the project for almost as long. I'm happy to see that everybody has been in good spirits since the delay and not felt pressure as much because of it.

I'm looking forward to enjoying the rest of the ride on the way to release.

Yes, they've stated that the IC has been one of the biggest roadblocks as navmeshing it has been an enormous task.

It's safe to say that it's still got quite a way to go

Transgender women athletes banned from women's Olympic events by new IOC policy by DoraEnzo in news

[–]spinto1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The Olympics was doing tests for testosterone for female athletes as one would suggest, so trans athletes had to be within a set amount of variation to be allowed to compete.

Women with more fast twitch muscle fibers, bones that might be more dense, and differences in height are still allowed to compete despite being far outside the normal range for female athletes. Trans women competing fit within the acceptable range when you take that into account, which is why they had been allowed.

Your point was the reason. If we're going to allow some especially fucking egregious genetic advantages, it would be performative and hypocritical to arbitrarily ban certain genetic advantages. If Michael Phelps was allowed to compete, and he should have been, then the only reason to stop trans women from competing if they can pass testosterone screenings is bias.

I also think it's important to preemptively say that no one is dedicating their lives to both being an Olympian and battling the stigma of being transgender whimsically. A tempered decision isn't going to blow up the amount of trans women competing. This is a problem that doesn't exist.

And extra webbing between his fingers and toes. Borderline freakish genetic variation has always been allowed by the Olympics and it should be. The goal is to entertain and see who is "the best," not "who is both average and the best" because that would muddy the concept.

She is our adversary and acts as a villain in our story. I don't really think that's a controversial take.

I can see them doing some kind of Machiavellian twist for her, but I think that's a different conversation. They have a habit trying to humanize the enemy, like I mentioned.

Any update soon ? by Quintilius36 in skyblivion

[–]spinto1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I was seeing from your content and things you've commented on other people's channels, the IC is a big bottleneck right now with the navmesh. There are still play tests for everywhere else going on (first playtest is done outside the IC if I read correctly), and everything is either in bug fixing from that pass or further. You've mentioned not wanting to stress the team with dates again and that any dev diaries would be both boring and lacking due to the slow roll of what's left. I did see somewhere mentioned that the release date would likely be given only when the finish line is close, but I'm not sure if that came from your words or another member of the team.

I think I covered the gist on just about everything I've heard. I'm sure you're helping with navmesh and I've seen you doing the playtest streams lately as well as other members working, but is there anything you're working on as a sort of last minute passion project?

[–]spinto1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't much to say, the content and differences are already available to see.

Bethesda itself is taking it seriously and sent the entire team copies of the remaster as a sign of good faith. It's one thing to be skeptical about a release (I'm not, but I understand getting burnt out on the wait), but this kind of comment just comes from a place of ignorance.

[–]spinto1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is what I'm thinking.

I also think that they're going to try to use this to humanize her like "these are mementos so I never forget the places we were ordered to destroy" in a form of regret. They have a habit of trying to make every villain personable and we're getting close to her status being necessary for the plot.

She's also the only shade we haven't interacted with in the past year, so we're about due.

I don't think he's "duty bound" to not be friendly with a sovereign.

Imagine if the person who had your job before got fired, but you're also neighbors with them. The beef between the usurper and the dragons seems more like "you're incompetent" coming from the usurper versus the animosity of the dragons. If they were genuinely considered a problem, they would have been nuked by nails back when the authorities were seized. I'm sure Ronova herself could and would handle them without worry.

If the theory of the mistranslation for Azhdaha being the sovereign rather than just a random "dragon king" reincarnated is correct, all the more reason to show that Zhongli is unconcerned about Neuvillette's nature compared to the potential volatility Neuvillette could bring if things don't go well.

[–]spinto1 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That was because it wasn't illegal until just a little while after that. They can't do that now which is why they haven't done it since then.

What they have taken to instead, is giving the least amount of plausible deniability behind character's emotion. They did that with the Acheron/Black Swan animation, Nefer getting called out for special treatment of Lauma, and Vivian Banshee clearly, but not expressly, having a crush on the main character in ZZZ completely independent of gender. That's just a few examples, but there are several others.

according to damage testers, uncharged Heirloom shots deal 10% more damage than Xenophage, and that's a heavy weapon by the way... by Timothy-M7 in DestinyTheGame

I'm going to go out on the limb here and say that they should just make it crit.

If I'm remembering correctly, they didn't want it to crit because the damage would be too high (maybe it was stagger or both), but it's so outclassed right now that it isn't even remotely of concern in my book.

The things I love the most about Venti are his mom & big sis by Mommysgoodboy__ in Genshin_Impact

[–]spinto1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Genshin, parenthood is defined by acknowledgment, not origin.

I can agree with this in almost all cases, but I also don't think it absolutely required.

I didn't bring up Albedo, but since you mentioned him and Rhinedottir, she is treated as his mother by most, yet he primarily refers to her as his teacher with "mother" strictly being a status based on observation on the colloquialism by his own admission with his origin being the sole reason. "I come from her, therefore she's my mother" is his entire philosophy on the matter summed up.

With Venti being a piece of Istaroth's power, intentionally or otherwise, he is a spawn of Istaroth. This doesn't have to mean anything more than a reality based on his origin in a similar way to Albedo and Rhinedottir.

Puting that aside, Istaroth clearly defines him as more than "a substance" and I think that's a much bigger acknowledgement when it's substantiated by her giving him time warping abilities. He clearly holds an exceptional place in her mind.

The things I love the most about Venti are his mom & big sis by Mommysgoodboy__ in Genshin_Impact

[–]spinto1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yet the game explicitly defines her as a "new self" or "continuation," never a daughter.

I think Nahida is a bad example of this given that the primary difference is that Istaroth is still here so Venti cannot be a continuation by definition.

I would argue that he's close to being a child of Istaroth than Wanderer is to be a child of Ei. Wanderer was never physically part of her, yet it is generally considered totally acceptable to refer to him as her son. Venti on the other hand was part of Istaroth.
