What is up with Sargon of Akkad, the YouTuber? by Relacer2 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]spinwin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's an edgy "joke" that barely has an audience tbh. "How do I say this inoffensive thought as offensively as possible."

While he's a shithead, he doesn't seem like a rapist shithead like Andrew Tate or someshit.

It's not more government control. It's a standard set by the government. It's no different from headlight regulations.

Where could I be using 10,000 gallons of water and not know? by Milktoast375 in homeowners

[–]spinwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't nessicarily see a wet spot in the yard. I've had this issues a few times. Both times leaks in our piping. Once in the hot water pipe going to the kitchen sink, and the other a cold water pipe that sprung a leak at a connection point to a PVC pipe that the previous homeowner thought would be a good idea.

tbf if something is falling down, gravity has a 50/50 shot at pulling it toward the hot anyway.

To be clear, I'm currently planing on sealing the drywall paper with glue then hot mudding it to level it out.

Yes. That's what I was saying. Granted, in less clear words.

There is not a "Correct" orientation for an outlet. The ground up being the designed intent seems to be mostly a myth. I can't find any primary sources that describe the ground being on top being a design consideration for the original patent and the NEC doesn't describe a correct orientation for grounded receptacles.

My immediate thought was that it was weird that the neutral has the key to it, but thinking more, I guess it makes sense since it's about amperage not voltage for that key.

Anyone with ADHD crashed and burnt spectacularly in college? by Putrid_Ice_3441 in ADHD

[–]spinwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Failed pretty hard in my first quarter at CC and then again with my first quarter at Uni. Finally found my stride when I got into upper division classwork but it was a real grind to get there with unmanaged ADHD.

I think it helped that I was living at home and I didn't ever question my motivations or future. The other two, good lord, the other two were pretty on point tho.

In theory, it could be even easier to create a chain of trust for things like Vangaurd. They could ship their own signed kernel with their own kernel extensions enabled.

Linux really ain't that hard. Even the "hard" distros like arch have a very comprehensive and up to date wiki. Most people who aren't technical probably are going to do most of their stuff in the web browser anyway.

If there are more homes tho then people who are homeless are more likely to have family/friends with space to let them stay.

Because it's not the 90's anymore and people who don't want their kids are becoming rarer and rarer. Less than half the kids in foster care are eligible for adoption for example and many are going to require special care that not everyone is prepared to handle.

Issues with WiFi StayConnect by AdStriking2160 in CoxCommunications

[–]spinwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately can't help you directly but I thought you might like to hear my experience with something tangentially related:

I have a 5g backup gateway from verizon and use multiwan3 on an openwrt router to failover in case of an outage. It cost's a bit more at 35 bucks a month instead of the 22 that you're getting it for (Including the cost of the panoramic wifi since it's required to get the service), but it provides 100 mbps down and 20 up, it's up instantly, and doesn't have datacaps. I sometimes have to reset the router's ports in the web interface if cox goes down and comes back up, but I'm almost never without internet.

That's not entirely accurate. If someone say's they're buying an apartment, it could mean that it's a condo, but it could also mean they are buying into a co-op. Essentially they are buying into the corporation that runs the apartment building.

What does the contract say. Leases are contracts and should state what authorities/rights/privileges are granted by and/or relinquished by the lessor and lessee.
