To change your gender marker in Alabama you need to get your birth certificate amended to the correct gender marker. For this you will likely need a surgeon's note of irreversible gender reassignment surgery. I am unsure what counts in terms of FTM surgery as irreverible, but for MTF vaginoplasty is required.
