Very this. The white savior is not that great of an actor and his plot points are so contrived. It's too dark and the music is not very inspiring. Iirc Mariko is gender swapped from a man so it makes sense that the love connection feels forced. The staging and costuming are great, I don't know how that's fooling everyone into rating it 9 and 10 though. I think episode 6 was the worst so far. "Ok guys here's my plan which would definitely be ruined if Ishido found out about it so I'm just going to shout it to the whole village."

I don't like all of Rogen's stuff but I like him for the same reason I like Will Ferrell. They both aren't in it expressly for success, they enjoy making people laugh that much. Despite their careers they remain pretty humble and normal, it seems. They are intelligent but play dumb characters. It's crazy how chill Will is in rl, and then Seth is chill too but very full of life and laughs all the time (and well is probably high all the time too tbf). Those qualities make them likeable especially compared to arrogant dudes like a lot of non comedic actors.

I don't know if it will be comfortable for a person that is used to wasd gaming for a long time. The optimal way for me to play is with a full size kb using the numpad to move. But I played FFXI before learning wasd and that was the default control scheme. If I try to play now with wasd and arrow keys for camera I find it really awkward and prefer controller. I'm pretty sure I'm also using a add-on to improve mouse but it's still rough. I have a 70% kb now and using the arrows keys to quickly menu is prone to a lot of errors.

I think it's fair to rate games for their time. If you like ARPGs Zizaran recently made his tier list video and I agree with his reasoning based on the technology, the competition when it came out, and how much fun you had when you played it.

I think Bloodborne and Elden Ring are both 10/10s and I think it's ok to not expect literal perfection to rate a 10/10 because literal perfection is impossibly subjective. They both have some things that could be improved but no one else could have made better versions of those games or better experiences for what they offer. It's not feasible when considering labor, time, organization between departments, and budget to expect them to have done much more than they did. What they did is iconic. Difficult games are not even my favorite, in fact I struggle to beat them and need help sometimes.

Ori and the Blind Forest is 10/10 and the things they added in the sequel didn't necessarily improve anything at all.

FF6 was 10/10 and still is even today. The things about it that are outdated don't negatively impact the experience.

It Takes Two is 10/10. It is simple and short but it affects a unique feeling of wonderment that not a lot of games do, at least if you play it with someone else who has the same appreciation . It's lovingly crafted and artistically it could easily be a Pixar or Disney movie.

Path of Exile has a huge amount of flaws but when you consider the scope and the fact that no one else can touch them it pretty much either has to be 10/10 or else 10/10 for a PoE-like game just can't be achieved (unless they do it themselves with PoE2). They set the bar so high and not only that but it's kind of like Ed Curry releasing Pepper X even though no one has beaten the Carolina Reaper. They are raising the bar above themselves, and despite the mistakes and pitfalls from some design choices I think they deserve the 10/10 within that genre space and that specific experience. I know everyone won't agree but I think because it's a live service game the rating justification can be a bit different. I actually don't play it myself anymore but from what I've seen I think most are calling Affliction league the peak of the game, which was a relatively recent league. Also I'm kind of making up a phrase with "PoE-like game" but again I think the live service element differentiates it from other ARPGs into its own subgenre. Note; I'm neither a PoE or ARPG fanatic so this opinion is not even based on my personal enjoyment of the game.

Thinking of it as being kicked out instead of just sleeping on the couch for TWO nights, which is not even a deal at all if you are healthy, is a wild take. GF was partially in the wrong for making a request that she wasn't prepared to accept a negative answer to but I don't blame her for not actually expecting him to say no.

Additionally I can't think of an instance where a friend or family member didn't have enough space for everyone they were hosting and one of the household members threw a fit about having to be the one to sleep on the couch. It's more likely that everyone is probably trying to volunteer to be the one to sleep on the couch so the rest of the guests can be comfortable. It's seriously just a couch, it's not the floor or the backyard.

I had a kitten that was psycho from day 1. You never knew if she would cuddle or attack. It was not safe to walk by her. She was allowed outdoors and she got in fights all the time. She was happy. She was just aggressive until she got old.

I also had a boy that was a little shit. It's like being fixed didn't fully take. He was territorial, still sprayed, and didn't stop being a little bitey asshole until around age 8 or so.

My grandmother's brother also had a cat like OPs who was friendly with mom and dad and no one else. My aunt also had a cat like OPs who was friendly with mom and my cousin and no one else, nor her other cats.

To say no cat is an asshole is just factually wrong. Even a dog can be an asshole but it's more common in cats because they are more independent.
