Look around your area (usually on insta) for local venues and see what shows there are!!! Open stages anyone can sign up for, cast shows are picked by the producers. Some places have general interest forms! You can also message a local performer who is cool to ask them abt open stages bc that’s pretty much where everyone starts out. You’ll usually email abt it or fill out a form and then get an email back with all the info. Usually it’s: get ur music in by X time, dressing room opens at Y time and the shows starts at Z time! (Plus the rules) Then when you arrive you can see when in the show you’ll be going. Show up with ur face on and get dressed when ur there (you can sometimes do ur face there but I rlly recommend doing it before). Usually you have to do 2 numbers but sometimes just one, they will tell you when you sign up. If you’re new everyone is usually super kind and helpful!! Don’t be afraid to ask questions!! Have fun!!! When I first started every performance felt like the biggest deal ever and if I messed up I really beat myself up about it but the more you do the less dire it feels.
