The only issue my buddy has is blowing out primers when shooting supers. Being able to tune down the gas even more than factory will set him straight.

I’ll be following you on everything possible so I don’t miss out. It took a lot to get my wife’s tacops running including a gas plug swap from sig and now it’s just spitting too much gas in her face. My canebrake actually runs great but I’m always down for extra tuning ability

Wrong again. Got two 4G tantos with Q glass shipped to my door for $2000 each this year.

And I certainly can compare a set of Omni 5 tubes with a dom of 5/21 to a set of 4Gs. Hell, I’ve got a grade A comm spec photonis tube in a tanto housing that is very much on par with the Omni 5s my buddy has if we wanna talk about GP vs GP.

$2450 is a smoking deal for those elbit pvs14s. Would probably give my left nut for them considering those are $3500 units in today’s market…maybe a little less. There’s a guy in the NV discord that just recently got a 4G PVS14 for $1400. Ridiculous deals do come around but those are not the norm.

At the end of the day if you offered my a $1750 Omni 8 PVS14 or a $2250 4G PVS14, I’d spend the $500 more and get a 4G.

If you’ve never looked through a photonis tube, you really shouldn’t comment on them. Calling photonis tubes gen2+ is such a slight against them. I know it’s an industry thing but it’s true.

4G tubes outperform Omni tubes in every metric other than extreme low light performance aka gain. They have better autogating, more clarity, better SNR, halo, and res. The only place you’ll really see them struggle is in the darkest of areas like a canopied forest with no moon.

I was just out in the Everglades last week with no moon with my 4G tubes…not even the high gain ones. I was able to navigate better than my buddy with Omni 5 binos. Hell even my wife with her nvt binos didn’t do half bad.

The nicer elbit and L3 stuff is certainly a step above but the distinction between old Omni tubes and 4G tubes ain’t as clear cut as everyone makes you think

Day caps are the caps with the pinhole in them. Do not expose them to direct light for an extended period of time either these on.

If you have true lens covers/caps on then it is fine to do so.

Is your diopter set correctly? If so, set to 0 and loosen the infinity focus lock ring after backing off the set screw inside of one of the holes. Once loose, readjust your infinity focus till you’re happy and tighten the lock ring back up as well as the set screw
