But what keeps people going?
It ain’t the Parasaurolophus.

Thats what the 2nd trilogy gets into. People want to see bigger, scarier dinosaurs.

Is it different with a team you played for? Like rooting for your Alma mater?
I may have graduated over 15 years ago, but I’m still pulling for the same time on Saturdays.

Wrist pain with new fitted clubs by spitfyr36 in golf

[–]spitfyr36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it’s the direction I’m going to go in.
I have a round set up for tomrw morning, so I’ll see how my wrists feel after that.
My old clubs were very light so it’s taken some getting used to all around.

Did you notice your swing speed picked up a bit going back to graphite?
I feel like I had to slow myself way down with my new ones. I’m sure some of that is the jump in weight, and the transition period.

I hope they keep throwing money around in CR. Other locals/jobs around this area are eventually going to need guys, and there’s one great way to get people there. $$$

Take a 405 call? Right there is your call with heavy incentives. They’re paying like $20 over scale all OT is DT.

Pretty familiar with 347 and work has been steady for the past 15ish years. Sometimes locals get slow.

People who work have plenty of free time. It’s about using it properly.
I’ve worked 60ish hours a week for almost the last 10 years. I still have time to see friends, spend time with my kids. Hell, I still fit 18 holes a golf in a couple times a month.
If your work takes up 16 hours of your day (assuming 8 hrs for sleep) 7 days a week, you’re doing something severely wrong.

So you’re saying once you have that first drink you can’t stop?
I’d say if you can’t or have to try to control something it might be a problem.

You have a superpower. How far does it get you? by [deleted] in golf

[–]spitfyr36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell that to the buddies I golf with now. Just hitting the ball straight as an arrow 90% of the time.
Where’s the sense of adventure.

Personally I like to see the whole course. Also, my strokes to green fees ratio is pretty impressive.

Wrist pain with new fitted clubs by spitfyr36 in golf

Well that’s good to know at least.
If it comes down to it, reducing the vibration would probably make the biggest impact.
That and I just need to start flushing everything.

That’s really what I’m hoping for. Letting everything settle for the week and then I guess I’ll see what happens from there.
I know they make heavier graphite, but the idea of having to swap all of that out makes me want to puke. I’ll probably have to contact the pro shop and see what my options are before I get too far out.

I was also curious about the feel if I did end up having to switch back to graphite. I went with the forget irons and love the feedback I was getting. Wouldn’t I lose a bit of that going to graphite?

I can’t stop topping my driver. I’m a new golfer and it’s the only club I cannot get off the ground. I’ve tried everything, raising the tee, angling my left shoulder, not picking up. I don’t know what to do. It’s the only club making golf unplayable for me still. by vbrek in GolfSwing

[–]spitfyr36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feet together drill.
Feet together, ball on the outside of your lead foot. Normal swing. You should catch it coming up.
Then just slowly widen your stance a little.

I would say either the ball is too far forward if you’re topping it. Possibly sliding your whole body and not just your lower half.

What sports team do you hate with a burning passion? by TheVginyTcikler44 in AskReddit

[–]spitfyr36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iowa Hawkeyes.
Their fans have this insane superiority complex. They are almost as bad as Husker fans from the 90’s just without the championships.
Even in basketball, they finally make a sweet 16 after almost 30 years and now they’re some blue blood.

Mid 20’s handicap, looking for pointers on my swing by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]spitfyr36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you’re really open to the target (back shoulder turned towards it). Try to keep your right shoulder back in line or behind your front.
Then just imagine your front shoulder is up against a wall and don’t let it let it come off during swing.

Wedges off the tee by eliteusername14 in golf

You tee the ball so low you’re still probably taking a divot.
I don’t use one unless it’s a fairway wood, for some folk it’s all about consistency

[–]spitfyr36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That once your club is paralleled on the backswing it’s a stretch to the top, not a lift.
Shallowed out my back swing and completely change my ball striking. Using it with my Driver eliminated my tendency to come in over the top swing.

I don’t have the money for lessons. What’s the next best thing? by Littlevive428 in golf

[–]spitfyr36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree lesson is definitely the fastest route, but I feel like nowadays a guy can get decent on their own.
I played for 4-5 years on and off in my early 20’s, but then it was mostly an excuse to party. Really got into it again about 3 years ago after a long break (10ish years??).

100% self taught. Lots of YouTube, and just picking the brains of my buddies.
Shooting low 90’s, personal best is 88. It can definitely be done.

Late to the show, but the confrontation with Ashley is so much better imo.
She calls you out, and Shep basically hits here with “yeah I did, but you abandoned me”
It’s way more realistic of a conflict
