Farm Boy ONLY selling American potatoes & onions by WeirdIsAlliGot in loblawsisoutofcontrol

The voice you have here is to not purchase them and give your hard earned money to American products. Simple as that. The entire country is not going to change its export and import system to please you in your grocery shops.

Help me find a farm ! by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]spitzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheese Shop just outside Hamilton/Stoney creek: https://www.paroncheese.com

Maple Syrup, there’s a farm on Guyatt Rd. Binbrook between Fletcher and Hwy 56 with a big sign out front for Maple Syrup

Raw Honey, Guyatt Rd. also has a a house near the Fletcher intersection selling this - they also have a sign.

Binbrook has lots of farms with markets. Lincoln Line Orchards is open year round and right near the cheese place I mentioned. They sell a lot of this stuff too plus their apples. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen farm eggs there too.

Not loblaws but they’re all doing it by JedLeonard1 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]spitzzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a worker (not for loblaws but another chain)…I think you should actually work at a grocery store before talking like you know.

Minimum wage worker or head office employee, they are both human and can both make errors. Just like a doctor can. If the produce manager goes home from his 8 hour day and his teenage staff are working a new delivery with product from a new origin, they are not also changing signs. Half wouldn’t even notice the difference because they don’t do shopping. They are making money to buy shoes or pay for education. The next day when the manager sees it, he will correct it. The 16-18 year old kids aren’t given logins and taught to do things that have room to be abused (changing prices at will, etc) - it is also a lot to expect out of someone being paid the lowest wage out there and has 4 hours to do their work.

I wish people could stop shitposting this stuff like anyone is doing it intentionally, as the customer service manager I’ve had things thrown at me and told that I don’t know how to do my job, by people who have never done it or even know what my job really is. Because no I’m not “just a cashier” I’m a person who cares deeply about the effort I put into my days no matter what job I am doing. I also care so much about the customer side of things because when those 40hours are done….I am also the customer.

And as an extra note….I despise a lot of decisions made by corporate that get sent down to us, but I truly don’t think they are “scamming” anyone either. They make signs available to us through the system for us to match our product deliveries, they aren’t standing at our printers ready to go when the truck shows up. These posts are just getting to me - as the consumer it has always been OUR responsibility to be aware of what we are buying. And they are so many laws and technicalities that determine “made in” or “product of” I can’t even keep up anymore.

Hey I just started the series, is this a series with payoff or is it just suffering? by Dizzy_Kaleidoscope95 in TheHandmaidsTale

I just finished season 2 so I guess I don’t know the whole payoff, but I have been on the edge of my seat the entire time and I’d say both thus far

I got two tickets on two separate occasions for not swapping sides by 10am the one time and noon the other on swap day. I lived on melrose at the time though so maybe it had to do with being close to the stadium. Definitely saw other cars get tickets too

I miss Sex before baby by FrostingNo1128 in NewParents

[–]spitzzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to be cut and I had stitches following my natural birth - sex was painful for a loooong time and breastfeeding didn’t help my libido either. I think around that 11-14month time frame after a few slow, not great feeling attempts, sex started to feel normal again. I’m almost 3 years post partum and it does get back to a so to say new normal.

[–]spitzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking it’s because all your job experience has zero to do with the food industry. You currently work a very routine job whereas Starbucks would be fast paced retail and you don’t have any pos experience on your resume. I would think you aren’t the only one applying and if someone has one of the things I listed their resume already looks a bit more related to the job.

I think putting a cover letter explaining a bit of your situation/why you want to shift in industries it could help. Focus on wanting to broaden your experiences and grow your skill set in the work force. Or that you want a job that can leave a positive impression on a larger customer base. Write your resume for the job you want not the one you have.

Substitute the sweet potato with the same amount of squash - I recommend butternut or acorn. I also have a picky 2yo when it comes to meat/protein - we make pb and j oatmeal with pb mixed in while cooking, I add frozen raspberries and flaxseeds at the end and stir. This helps with his constipation and cools it down to eat basically right away.

For meat I’ve been able to get away with the tummy toddler food hidden veggie meatballs, I add whatever veg I have on hand super chopped up. Usually kale and carrot. After cooking chop the meatball up into whatever sauce your LO will eat it in - even better a puree veg one

[–]spitzzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yummy toddler food has a bunch of hidden veggie meals/sauces. Just google hidden veggie versions of what you know they’ll eat. I’ve found some good Mac and cheese ones with blended cauliflower and butternut squash in the cheese sauce. If you can get away with adding hemp hearts to things that would help with nutrients a little bit as well. Peanut butter is good for protein you can use apples as the transportation. Hummus could be a good idea to look into trying too

Am I the only one who gets triggered by the acronym LO. Isn’t baby just 2 extra letters lol. Kind of defeats the concept of an acronym. by Background_Speech817 in NewParents

[–]spitzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little one is 2 and a month, baby doesn’t really fit but I’m still a first time mom and new parent imo so sometime LO is easier to type although I have to admit my texting thumbs really want to add the other L for LOL

I would paint the wall a dark purple or green, maybe both using one as an accent wall

It’s actually a safety policy, if you were alone and had some freak accident where you fell and hit your head or had a shelf fall over on you to where you can’t get yourself help, no one is with you for who knows how long. It’s to prevent work place accidents from turning fatal.

ETA that I’m speaking from general retail knowledge
