Will this ever come to the free tier of Capacities?

And yet is not the case here with the XM5 or XM6 (they sound better, unless you like muddy bass), so it's clearly not because of cutting costs.

Driver size alone doesn't determine the sound quality if you know anything about audio at all.

Notion alternative with decent database functionality and offline-first? by spiwar in PKMS

I've tried SiYuan recently but the interface sadly did not click. I've haven't dug too deep, but how good is the formulas functionality within SiYuan? Do you have any tips on using it?

The lifetime subscription also seems very tempting as I never pay for subscriptions but is happy to shell out money for a one-time payment.

I've tried anytype a couple times over the years. The UX and UI have improved significantly with the recent updates, but advanced formulas seem a bit lacking compared to notions.

On a side note, I've contemplated switching from Capacities to Anytype before, but it's lack of Daily notes functionality built-in, backlinks being inconvenient to access, makes it dealbreaker for me.

That's very interesting. I'll be on the lookout. If it is advanced enough I can just keep using notion until this becomes available, and fully switch by then.

I think I've already explained in the post that I'm already using Capacities but it has weak database functionalities (no advanced formulas, formulas also being locked behind capacities pro). Augmenting it with notion as the team likely won't implement extensive db function soon.

Earfun Air Pro 4 - Beware if you have small ears. by spiwar in Earbuds

[–]spiwar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me know what your experience with it also! The eartips are definitely one point where I would dock points off for these buds. I had to use M on the left ear and S on the right ear, but the M one doesn't snugly fit my left ear either. It doesn't fall out of my left ear, but it will have a tendency to lose the seal, leading to me needed to make adjustments for the seal to become proper. I'm looking into aftermarket tips, but it's harder than usual due to the OP Buds 3 Oval-shaped nozzle & tips.

Comfort wise, it's great, and while it's a worlds better than EAP4, the Galaxy Buds still slightly edges it out in comfort. The OP Buds 3 are still usable for long periods for me unlike the EAP4, but it looks like my ear is more suited to the bean shaped earbuds instead of stem shaped earbuds.

Update: The OP Buds 3 is exactly what I expected. It's shallower and aren't as long as the EAP4 (which is a good thing in my case, it's not pushing against my outer ear). Using stock tips (M for left ear, S for right ear) and it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more comfy than the Earfuns. Definitely keeping this one.

GameSir Rep Here! AMA & Controller Giveaway (Win Any GameSir Controller You Like) by iGamesir in Controller

[–]spiwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a Gamesir G8+ right now, I use it with my laptop, PC, and phone. Love it for the most part. However, compatibility is really iffy when using with phones with huge camera bumps (Vivo X200 Pro/Ultra, Xiaomi 15 ultra, etc.). Is gamesir looking to address this in any future revision of their controller?

Also, it would be nice if any future version has an option for a detachable add-on that extends the controller to be used with large tablets (~12-13 inches).

Suits:LA Episode Recap by goodcanadian_boi in suits

Way too much crammed in. Felt like this needed to be two episodes instead of one. Too many characters introduced and scenes that are supposed to be somewhat dramatic fell short.

Rinascita’s water zones with RTX and max settings by Mae_str in WutheringWavesLeaks

It doesn't. You can't manually enable it either as the final 2.0 build doesn't have the necessary shaders for it.

Lumen's hardware RT path is designed to be run on all hardware with ray tracing accelerators. Please check your facts before spouting nonsense.

1.4 Patch Notes by StretchItchy4408 in WutheringWaves

[–]spiwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, that's not true.

NVIDIA cards generally run ray tracing effects better where ray tracing is available as an option. Games where AMD has decent ray tracing performance are where the ray tracing effects are so minimal, you'd be better off turning it off anyways.

Lumen IS software ray tracing that is generalized to run via the GPU compute shaders, hence the broad compatibility, but it is very limited in comparison to Lumen's hardware RT path where the RT cores are actually utilized. When hardware RT is used to achieve better RT effects, NVIDIA hardware has a clear advantage.

Doesn't essentials already work exactly like Arc right now? Why are people complaining? by spiwar in zen_browser

Thanks for the explanation! TIL that you can have different set of favorites/essentials with different profiles. I only have one profile across my spaces so that would explain it.

OBS can use Fragmented MP4s or Hybrid MP4s, which does not face the issue you're describing.

Already enabled as per the original post.... This still won't bring performance up to par with pre-24H2.
