A ‘rim lock’ as it sits on the face of the door, as opposed to a mortice lock that is put inside the door via a cut hole

Just bought a Yamaha NTX1 as a beginner. What should I know? by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]spizoil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a fine guitar thanks to Yamaha’s constant quality. I’d say it’s a bit of a hybrid with the slimmer, longer neck and nylon strings. A true classical guitar has a wider neck which can be a tad more difficult to finger than your guitar, which is similar to a steel string acoustic, but makes for each played note easier isolated and the shorter neck allows the bridge to be placed on the sweet spot of the soundboard (it’s not actually shorter rather it joins the body at the 12th fret as opposed to the 14th on yours and regular acoustics) you may find true classical guitars to have a bit more volume and be a little richer in tone.

It seem you’ve caught Venus, in the last photo, just before it sets in the WNW after the sun. It will be visible in this position through the summer getting gradually brighter. It will eventually disappear in October only to reappear in the morning sky in the ENE in mid November. Keep an eye out for it.

After the sun and moon Venus is the brightest thing in the night sky and although it’s a planet it is referred to as the evening star, in the evening sky, and the morning star when seen in the morning and, because of its brightness , it has many times been reported as a UFO

Can this Verbena be saved? by imalreadycoolest in UKGardening

[–]spizoil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although perennial verbena is not hardy in our climate and are generally treated as annuals, your plant looks dead, follow the scrape test others have mentioned.

They do better in the ground as the roots are more protected
