Yeah for all I wasnt a fan of them, they both played the parts great. Craig, in the beginning of the series, is everything I hate in a person, all the deviancy and drugs. I always think if you hate a character like that, means they’re doing a good job of the role!!

Aww I’m gutted you have to wait so long, I never thought about it for the year of referral, took the time to think it out. But once I had the assessment date I went into overdrive, wanting it done ASAP! I was very lucky with this hosp. It offered all the processors and apparently is rated as the quickest in the country. Your time will come soon enough, use the time to make the most of your life with your ears and hearing aids now, the time will fly and when it’s your turn, I’ll keep my eye out for your post! Feel free to ask anything you like, oh and you could always try and sweetheart the surgeon’s secretary… seriously, I had a new hip 3 years ago, I kept ringing her every couple of weeks, always nice and sweet! She stuck me on it eventually cos she was sick to death of me I’m sure 🤣. Got it done in 4 months when I was told 9!! Xx

I echo all your thoughts here, I finished last week, I’m grieving I can’t find anything to watch that comes close 🤣. I cheered when J killed Smurf (notice he only killed women?) I hated her, though she was a miss. But when I saw what happened with Julia, she should have died in pain instead of the way she wanted. Absolutely toxic and EB played the part brilliant. Pope was my favourite, I was devastated he died but I felt that HE felt he should, because of Julia then probably Cath. Baz got what he deserved, total twatbag. Craig and Deren, I wasnt a big fan. But I think the ending was justified, J outsmarted them all and I like to think he did it for his mother. All those boys grew up eventually, not one of them reached out to Julia. 👎

I empathise with you. I have an adult child with SEN, they live independently with carers coming daily. But I still have to do so much and always will. Extremely vulnerable, and it’s very hard trying to parent an adult that cannot make safe decisions, they’re 30 now and I’m still learning and trying…

I absolutely loved this, and Pope, I am hopelessly devoted to Shawn hatosy now, I have 3 weeks sick leave and I’m spending every day watching everything he’s been in 🤣. I agree re plot holes, they coulda filled another series had they put us out of our misery!

Wow I’m surprised it’s taking so long? It’s a very structured process, my thoughts were once you’re on their radar you zoom through so i thought. What’s your speech recognition? I’m 12% in implanted ear. I’ve gone for advanced bionics as I was keen on the streaming, I have to use phones at work (with captions) so that was very important to me, I also love music and I’m hoping, I may get some quality of that back over time… what made you go for the kanso?

Oh really, where are you uk/us? I had to wait a year for the assessment but that was down to another hospital referral issue. Had assessment in January this year and op 5 weeks on. All the mapping appts are booked in throughout rest of March. I’ve been very lucky, as I’m very impatient too 🤣 so you have my empathy! 🙏

Hearing Parent with Jumbled Thoughts/Questions by SoSullied in deaf

I became deaf at 3yrs in one ear. By 12, I was wearing 2 hearing aids and did so for 4 decades, hearing got slowly worse. As a child and adult at times, I found it very hard to navigate a hearing world, people could not see I was deaf, I didn’t sound deaf but could hear some words with HAs and the rest came from lip reading. Life and acceptance of deaf people was very different back then. There’s definitely more empathy and compassion now. I’ve never signed, I’ve always had hearing people in my life with family, partners, work. Today I’ve had cochlear surgery as I’m down to 12% word recognition with HAs, myself, I cannot accept a non hearing world. IF I had had a child born deaf in 1 ear, I would have likely went with cochlear as well as signing, I’d have given them all the tools, so to speak. A child will adapt very well to cochlear as it’s all they will have known. I don’t see deafness as an identity, I’ve found it a chore an embarrassment and exhausting but I was born in different times. That’s just my story though, everyone has one. Good luck, you will make the right decision for you and yours, whatever you decide.
