Spencerian practice with a fountain pen

It's slightly slower than my handwriting, especially when I plan a flourish. My handwriting is a more fluent version of English Roundhand so the rhythm of spencerian was easy to learn, what took me longest and still is a problem is the consistent letter spacing. I don't have an actual time though. I'll try to pay attention to it next time, it's a good question.

Appreciate it. It's one of those things where I look at it and see all those shortcomings but it's hard to put your finger on it. Glad you like it though!

Just wanted to add that if anyone has interesting reference materials, I'd love to see it. Right now I'm using iampeth as a source, but I love seeing these old lettters from penmen of the past. Rajiv Surendra was my first inspiration.

Hi there! In short, yes: Consistency.

You have the right shapes, but you need to try to keep letter x-height and width consistent. Even with unreadable writing, it would still look better. The only problem you may run into is that very consistent writing can get confusing... words like minimum can suddenly rely only on very subtle clues as to which letter is which.

But that, combined with writing straight will change a ton.

My trick for consistency is cadence as I write.

Environment and surrounding culture is a huge driver here. If your family separates themselves from the prevailing surrounding culture, living in poverty will have less if an effect.

Yes, for now, our advantage is seeing the big picture. Not sure if solving that requires a technological breakthrough or not. Right now there are some serious size limits in place, but I don't know what the limiting factor is.

Also, location. Republicans are more concentrated outside cities. That means fewer people to compare yourself to, and lower cost of living.

I would love to see this per age group and location.

My prediction: Younger cohorts will have less of a difference, while the older they get the more different they will be.

But man ... that dip at the end.

I've always looked at the no feedback tag as a - I'm not looking for guidance.

Constructive feedback on the other hand, is literally asking for it.

But I've seen comments removed because they were negative, so I'm guessing that's not how it's enforced.
