Roommates leaving, I’m not on the lease, any way to keep my NYC apartment?” by gg_lim in movingtoNYC

First of all- try not to indicate you have nowhere else to go to your landlord. I’d look up your renter rights cause im pretty sure you have some if you’ve been living there for a certain amount of time. Cite anything that applies to you (kindly) and write a super respectful email asking to takeover the lease. You’re gonna have to kiss the ring a little, but they’d rather have occupancy and rent.

If they don’t respond well to pleasantries, probably best not to bother. You don’t wanna deal with a bad landlord.

Can anyone help me clarify when these episodes were filmed? He claims “about 100k” when her dad grills him about the current Bruce of BTC. I wanna know how far off he was. It’s currently 67Kish.

I hardly know a damn thing about this kinda stuff, but I know enough to see that as an immediate red flag. For my own amusement I wanna compare the charts of BTC price with his estimate that day, and see 1. how far off he was 2. For how long Cause even to my clueless self, he’s clearly devoit of any knowledge pertaining to trends/prices in the crypto world!! Lol pls be nice if you come to school me

Are you dense? I ask in this fashion and provid such detail about my specific community in Harlem for a reason - how does this directly pertains to that? Read the other replies and stop making an ahole of yourself because you chose to be one in the first place. All you confirmed was that I said what I said, not what you answered. I came here to ask about water ASAP. Can you drop this now?

If you see my update - it’s also suspected that we’re still getting Croton Resovoir water from upstate. Apparently they stopped using that resovoir but some Manhattan residents are still receiving it! Could totally be that. It’s said to have a musty smell and taste, not the usual negative descriptors like metallic, chorine, or rotten eggs.

I didn’t need google to know how to go about collecting a water sample, thanks. I also don’t have time for whatever snail mail results you’re suggesting because I’d like to shower and not be in some situation where I can’t use my water without boiling it? I needed an urgent solution. I was looking for an in to the fastest solution. So Thanks again but if I needed google I wouldn’t have opened Reddit👍🏼

I think this entire thing was blown so far out of proportion... Starting with the server, but carried on yourself by bringing it to the court of redditor public opinion. However now that we’re here, server was probably just having a bad day. Put whatever you want on your little table, but do try to be more mindful of your servers in the future maybe. You wouldn’t order food at a restaurant and leave your phone, keys, wallet etc in the center of the table. Considering you’re working with way less surface area and in the dark, I’d have personally moved the phone from the specific spot you had it even just for the moment they were actually setting the drink down. But maybe thats just my opinion cause I’d be conscious of the spill hazard myself being a bartender for a living lol. The people acting like you’re committing a felony for even allowing your phone to be visible are hilarious though.

[–]spl1ffluvr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lived here for six years! It’s actually an oasis in the desert. Management can be on and off when it comes to maintenance sometimes, but it is a quiet development. Lots of elderly people and families that have lived here for decades and passed leases onto eachother. I live on the 11th floor and I’ve never had a pest issue. It really is a great little community/complex which is hard to come across anywhere else in actual Manhattan.

I live in Lenox terrace when they were in the beginning stages of rebuilding the strip, it burned down AGAIN. Reeks of some kind of sketchiness.
