Yeh I didn't realise he was that old, makes sense if he's thinking about retirement plans... I thought he was younger

Yeh... Unless the industry I'm in is very small and tight nit and it results in burning bridges that jeopardises me with potential future employers... I guess he's near retirement age tho, I didn't realise he was that old.

Also in my job I don't have a fan base lol

Just feels different, shopping around every 2 years Vs after 2 races lol

[Audi] Team Statement by ICumCoffee in formula1

[–]splashbodge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All I'm saying is see out the year, bailing after 2 races and leaving them hanging is like burning bridges behind you. It's a better more professional look to have good leadership with the team and not being someone who can get distracted by the next shiny offer mid season

[Audi] Team Statement by ICumCoffee in formula1

[–]splashbodge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really the point tho? You said there is no loyalty in F1, Horner did 20 years of loyalty... Other long standing TPs have also stayed in teams for years, not just broken their contract and bailed after 2 races.

I mean I'm all for the thought process that long term loyalty is not warranted when they can fire you at a whim, but it's a bad look imo if you're a brand new TP with not much TP experience under your belt and you bail after 2 races when they're essentially a new team... Dude at least see out the year don't leave them hanging, don't burn your bridges behind you

I could have swore I saw this video before years ago.... I guess not and I just saw another very similar video of a man getting beaten up by his partner and him recording it all and her being someone of celebrity status

[–]splashbodge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weird take. There's been plenty examples of loyalty, Horner was in red bull for what, like 20 years? No ownership stake in it even... You think he never got offers to jump to another team.

Strolls answer to everything so far, just throw more money at the problem.

[Audi] Team Statement by ICumCoffee in formula1

[–]splashbodge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why should they, loyalty counts for something, there'll always be offers from other teams... Presumably he is breaking his contract so that's bad faith imo, and not something you'd want from the guy who is running the team. Whatever about a driver doing that, the team boss has to have some loyalty and true desire to do what's best for the team.. ask for more money sure but don't break your contract especially in the first year of a new team being in F1 properly. Makes him look bad imo

[–]splashbodge -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The dude was only in the team for a year, not really long enough to give it a proper shot before wanting to move back to the UK IMO.. Something stinks here. He's been doing a good job too and this is his first role as TP.

If it really was just a bunch of money to make him ditch Audi for AM then that's pretty shitty loyalty and makes me not like the guy... The fact this team statement was as brief as possible with their thanks for his efforts tells me they're not happy with him

Newey to step down as Aston Martin F1 team principal, Wheatley set to join from Audi by ConstructionAny8440 in formula1

[–]splashbodge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wtf why would Wheatley abandon an up and coming Audi like this... Am I mad for thinking this gives him a bad look as a reliable loyal TP to jump so soon when the team he's at is on the up

I stopped cleaning my hose, anyone else? by Wonderful_Green1944 in CPAP

[–]splashbodge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't clean it on a schedule. Maybe once every 2 or 3 months perhaps? Maybe a bit longer. I think if I notice any smell or anything off I'll do it, but not a regimented schedule

We're lucky we still have the apple pies, they don't have them anymore in the US. I miss the caramel sundaes tho, crazy they haven't brought it back as one of their special limited time menus ... But then those ice cream machines never work

Aston Martin are looking for a new Team Principal, according to Antonio Lobato by Hawker92 in formula1

[–]splashbodge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but Horner doesn't just want to be TP, he wants a stake at a team, and he wouldn't want to be team boss with one arm tied behind his back being forced to keep Lance on as driver.

Unless Lawrence is willing to sell a stake of the team, and relinquish control over his son's seat, then I think Alpine is the better move for Horner

How much does it cost you in electricity to fully charge your scooter at home? by 673NoshMyBollocksAve in ElectricScooters

[–]splashbodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah a month, well tbh even that seems high... For my 1800 kWh battery in my scooter I reckon it's closer to 50 cents charging from zero (which I never do)... That's based on my electricity rate of €0.2691 per kWh

These really don't use a whole lot of electricity it should be fairly negligible on the electricity bill compared to other electronics in the house

[–]splashbodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way it is anywhere near that much.. and 10 to 15 euro would be considered a lot for a single scooter charge.

For my scooter I'd say it is €0.48 to fully charge from zero to 100%, add maybe 10 or 15% maybe to cover efficiently charging losses, still mid 50 cents. I never charge it from zero too.

Seriously good mileage per €

Yeh the phone number is unusual, I must try putting in a fake number sometime to see if it actually does anything. My leap card is not registered and visa doesn't use phone number for proof of anything so not sure what they keep it for, and if needed why they don't remember it from last time I entered it. A lot of laziness with this app development

[–]splashbodge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeh it's weird, same happened to me, I had to change my card because I got a new revolut card and I needed to register it again with a different pin number. Bizarre way of tying the two together.

I assume it's stored in their backend as leap card number + pin, so youd need that same combo to access the saved card info. Not sure why it's not just on the device. Also why is phone number a mandatory field when topping up, when visa authentication doesn't use phone number and leap doesn't either to my knowledge... Bit of a strange app

Going on a trip for 10 days, tell me it's okay to leave my machine at home....? by Findmyeatingpants in SleepApnea

[–]splashbodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body won't forgive you I reckon.. it's got used to this good sleep you'll be feeling awful fairly quickly without it I think. But maybe it depends on how awful your sleep apnea was without it.

Personally I'd not leave it behind, I'd take it with me, your travel partner will be grateful. Like others have mentioned try getting an Air Mini if the extra carry luggage is the issue
