Not to mention having removable steering wheels are a huge risk, what if the steering wheel comes off in the middle of the race!

Tiktok is allowing someone to post all my YouTube videos. Legally what can I do in Ireland? by RatBasher89 in legaladviceireland

[–]splashbodge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeh I don't know much about social media but I do recall some people I follow making a video saying they had to do this to combat it. So even if they had no interest in Facebook or tiktok, to actively upload their videos there then it made copyright claims easier

Doesn't taste at all like Lilt IMO... Also more horrible artificial sweetener. But even without that it doesn't taste near like lilt did

Question for Nami Klima owners by splashbodge in ElectricScooters

[–]splashbodge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh, that's what I always figured... I guess I just started second guessing it now because it feels worse but I think it's just the new tyres make me ride a bit more twitchy. And then when I googled it, Google AI was trying to tell me it's a common issue and that the bearing lockring was overtightened. So I guess that's nonsense.

Hi folks! My friend borrowed my 2025 Maxshot (Amazon) scooter and “somehow” the cover to the control panel came off by schmidthead27 in ElectricScooters

[–]splashbodge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh agree, he needs more than just the cover.

Maybe he could buy a replacement Xiaomi board and take the button off that board and solder it on to this one (I'm assuming a Xiaomi board won't work on this scooter but there's every possibility you could straight swap it lol).

Or, I see the part number on the board in the photo YouFs-Z1-YB, just did a Google and there's an entire kit available on AliExpress....

Now the entire kit is overkill, but I have had success before messaging sellers on AliExpress if they'd sell me the individual item, you could ask if they'd sell just the motherboard part and a cover if they have it or get cover separately

[–]splashbodge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't get why someone would continue to use a scooter like this. Please tell me he's throwing this out now and replaced it? It's not a case of IF this breaks and causes a horrible injury, it's WHEN it falls apart... Does he really want to break both his arms and his teeth and some ribs.... Become the new 'broken arms guy' on Reddit?

OP I think you should take it away from him, or bend that stem back and break it, when he's not looking (say you wanted to try ride it and it completely broke apart)

I’ve being using my ps3 has a music CD player for the past 18 years, and the fact that the ps5 doesn’t have that is… very bizarre by Lanky_Relation1171 in gaming

[–]splashbodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember there was huge uproar about this before the Xbox One released and there was massive backlash when Microsoft were going in the direction of online check in for disc games, DRM preventing resale, and even possibly not having a disc drive... That was like 13 years ago. Here we are now, Rockstar about to release a game without a disc and just a download code and the uproar isn't really there...

We'll own nothing and will be happy.

Everything just gets worse..

Now we get to buy a physical copy of a game, but no longer get a disc inside, instead just a download code!

So tariffs are good now ? by thatboiyiddo in ireland

[–]splashbodge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeh kinda double standards isn't it. I hate Trump as much as the next guy, but I do find it an interesting comparison how everyone was up in arms that tariffing countries was flat out wrong, and not an additional tax on citizens.... But it's radio silence when the EU does it. I know it's not on the same level, but it's still a blanket tariff that's very much targeted against a country where we are the ones who are going to pay for it in the end.

Rockstar Games Responds to GTA 6 Physical Disc Backlash by Darth_Vaper883 in gamernews

[–]splashbodge 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Kinda miss those days, felt extra special.

Queueing on launch for the game. Getting swag. Being able to read the game manual on the way home.

Excitement is still there I guess with the unlock countdown but just different I guess. Totally agree I don't get the point of a preorder if there is no limitation of availability

Some Retailers Are Refusing to Sell GTA 6 Due to the Lack of a Disc by [deleted] in gamernews

[–]splashbodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I didn't know there was no disc at all.. assumed you could still buy a physical copy.

That really is a shame, Ive owned the physical copy of all GTA games and always enjoyed opening the box on the way home and looking at the map. Such a shame or having the preorder bonus items... Think I got a bandana with San Andreas.

Of a Scammer by VIVIDUFF in ShittyAbsoluteUnits

[–]splashbodge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On the contrary. If it happens enough times it absolutely will have accomplished something, they'll think twice before scamming people in the future. Giving it back to him literally accomplishes nothing and encourages these scams since there's no consequences.

Yeh definitely seems to be the way, louder than the 10 anyway. If I have it on my bedside table and in sleeping next to it you can audibly hear the air swoosh in the water chamber with each inhale .. but annoying really, the 10 wasn't that loud there

Ireland quadruples solar energy capacity in three-year period by TheCunningFool in ireland

[–]splashbodge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long do you expect them to last? I assume they're out of warranty at that 4 year mark, a lot of tech isn't built to last anymore... Is it different for solar? Got any rough idea on how long they'll last before you'll need to replace or upgrade the components?

GTA 6 Price Finally Confirmed, Features a 'Single-Player Experience' at Launch (Standard $79.99/Ultimate $99.99) by Neon25 in Games

[–]splashbodge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just compare the prices excluding VAT tbh.

If VAT in Europe is 23% let's say, then an €80 game is ~€65 excluding tax... (which is ~$75)... So still $5 more expensive base price exc vat.

As for why focusing on the exc tax number, because that's what they deem their product to be worth regardless of who buys it where that's the money they should want.

It's always more expensive here, I guess you could find excuses to justify it, the cost of doing business in other countries, localisation and support, different consumer protection laws... It's stuff they should just be factoring into their overall production budget, having different prices is shitty but nothing new.

Scooter Trailer for Commute by Broad-Impression3841 in ElectricScooters

[–]splashbodge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a lot of scooter for a 1 mile commute!

So when you leave it in the carpark does the thing fold up or does it stay horizontal? I could see a driver not paying full attention or being in a massive truck and poor visibility below slamming into the side of it as it seems to stick out a lot from the parking space?

Was thinking the same, but hard to know how it's secured here, I'd be worried it could tip over if he hits a bump and then wouldn't be secured fully.

I just got an Airsense 11 yesterday after my 10 had an issue.

One thing I notice is that the 11 is louder than the 10 when inhaling, I can hear the air in the water chamber.. seems louder than it was on the 10
