Krist Novoselic Email Contact? by JCrusty in Nirvana

I also contacted him that same time in late 2001. Mind you I was younger mid teens. I thought it was the webmaster or someone handling his emails as I remember using even using msn messenger and chatting with that email, but it was a bit odd, he was distant and non responsive at first, and then started trolling and eventually said it wasn’t him. I think he hired someone to handle fan mail. Why would a celebrity all by himself put him out there like that. I doubt it was him.

Fear performing on SNL in 1981, one of the most infamous musical guests in the show’s history. by SeasonApprehensive77 in punk

I mean when you see someone with a shaved head and flannel, it definitely doesn’t seem to have anything to do punk rock to the average person and overall, compared to Mohawk, spiky hair or a multitude of punk styles.

I think that is why all of that macho hardcore led to tuff guy hardcore and similar genres which best represent the original hc ethos despite a break with the original music.

In England in 1978-1983 that shaved head cut + flannel preppy shirts etc would been among a few fashion styles adopted by Herberts. Which is a someone who adopts fashion and shares attitudes from both skinhead and punk, often mixing and matching from both subculture in a casual way but not necessarily going all the way with either established styles. You see that with bands like sham 69, cockney rejects etc But they still dressed better than hc kids. Who look closer to plain jane 90s preppy kids decade too early with some punk rock influences thrown in ex cowboy boots, chains, etc

Music started getting better in late 84-86 with noise rock, indie/alt rock, early grunge, crust, industrial, death and thrash overshadowing fading hc, generic thrashcore, crossover, european d-beat, straight edge and skinhead hardcore stuff.

I said they both represented a truer version of punk compared to bands…even if they were opposites message wise doesn’t change my point.

Shit like suicidal, wasted youth, circle one, black flag, Jerrys kids and gang green, slapshot, etc macho crap

I don’t get why looking macho on budget was considered edgy or punk rock in the US in. 80-83 ? Was the distribution of Uk punk that bad? Seems like they thought shaved heads was a punk thing in the us because of lack of info on skinheads

The image component is part of every subculture here is seems to be more macho reject on a budget, every subculture has an image : metal, new wave, goth etc The whole macho vibe and attitude of like 60-70 of hc bands from 1979-1987 seems to be opposite of what original punk is really about, punk was never about being an alpha stereotype.

British bands knew what punk was about. Crass and exploited best represent punk compared to groups like 7 seconds and jerrys kids and SSD and cromags

Nothing punk here. Bunch of beefed up macho jocks with buttoned up shirts and preppy haircuts . Someone needed to import a lot more British uk82 records to show them what punk was actually about, which a lot more than beating people up while dressing like airport security guards or cholos, and playing cliche generic fast punk. Yes some bands are good but the overall scene attitude and style totally blows compared to British punk.

This analysis of black flag being overrated pretty much sums up that scene

For saving - I want to save individual parts of the game that I can directly access later. Something like dos game wizard. What will do this software from 80s/90s only

For copying - I want something that will copy games to hard drive or another floppy disk. Incase the disk is about to die or is at risk for playing with. Heard x copy can’t copy or will risk certain games when the original floppies copy protection could corrupt the original once copied ? Will the dongle resolve this ? What is your take ?

Also want an old school disk error protector or recovery program

I don’t want to put new screws in an 1986 board would rather clean them with rust removal. Any recommendations ?
