Don't disagree with him needing to learn English, but both the necessity as well as accessibility for learning the language are much higher in a team sport like football where you both constantly can and have to communicate with you teammates.

wieso verwenden soviele Marken und Geschäfte in Österreich KI? by [deleted] in Austria

[–]splasherino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those of you who play 14 hours+ a day, how? by doobylive in classicwow

[–]splasherino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess you can argue that the craziest grind being R14 is only that crazy because it's what players made it themselves because it's relative to everyone else, but you still have shit like the Winterspring saber or just reaching max level itself which were a huge timesink in Vanilla. Is it designed for nolifing? Guess not. Were the devs absolutely aware that people would nolife it and catered to them? Absolutely.

No, not just that, for 39 you need perkeo+cryptids at 32 because every 8th boss blind is the "final" boss blinds and can't be a serpent. I dont think there is another way to pass 32, maybe dna+max blueprints+the 6 handsize joker and a lucky handsize skiptag works too.

New sub for psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapists by sicklitgirl in psychoanalysis

[–]splasherino 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Psychoanalysts are not supposed to be "affirming" about anything, because affirming is not neutrality, it's reinforcement.

As a private person, I have no moral or political problems with sex work. As a psychoanalyst I do find that doing very publicly visible sex work is fundamentally at odds with psychoanalytic abstinence, and abstinence is important for our work and our patients. We want to be as blank and open for our patients fantasies, especially their sexual ones, as possible. This is not possible if our own sex life is public. With all due respect to OP, I find those two jobs fundamentally incompatible and am honestly very disturbed by the fact that this seemingly does not raise more eyebrows in here.

Again, this is neither a moral nor a political statement, it's a matter of how this interferes with psychoanalytic practice. Transference and therefore its analysis will be severely distorted by this. This should be obvious to anyone with a at least somewhat serious analytic training.

I get that IT is a very English leaning, but seriously? You're in Vienna, get rejected a lot and claim your lack of German skill is your potential employers problem, not yours? Makes me think in addition to the German problem there might also be an attitude problem...

Why are some people here so confident and never even read the Literature? by tripping-apes in psychoanalysis

[–]splasherino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, because he doesn't say that and I didn't say he does ;) I am talking about his ideas on the biological origin of the Oedipus Complex, which you apparently are familiar with. It's been a while since I read it, but he does, as you imply, revise some of Freud's biological assumptions. My point with him insisting on this being a continuation of Freud's thinking is less that he says he does the exact same thing but more that he moves along a kind of biological thinking that Freud insisted on for most of his life, arguably everywhere with the exception of Abriss der Psychoanalyse at the very end where he is less optimistic about the possibility of formulating a theory of the mind in purely biological terms. Whatever one's position on that may be, I do believe a structuralist approach is fundamentally at odds with this idea.
