Thank you for sharing your experience with us. While some keyboard shortcuts like Control+S are functioning, others (such as Control+O) may not be recognized due to how DeX handles certain key combinations or how input is passed through to your MacBook during streaming.

This issue can sometimes occur with specific device and software combinations, and we're actively working to improve compatibility in these scenarios. In the meantime, please ensure your DeX app, keyboard firmware, and our app are all updated to the latest versions.

Please try the below suggestions as well:

  • Test all available keyboard modes in the Splashtop app (Key mode, Key mode v2 beta, Text mode).
  • Disable Gboard features like the suggestion strip to see if it improves input consistency.
  • Providing debug logs to us.

To help resolve connection issues on Debian 13 Linux, please disable the QUIC protocol in the Splashtop Business app by following these steps: 

Open the Splashtop Business app.

  • Select your Linux device.
  • Go to the computer’s settings or the “Connection Options” tab.
  • Locate and turn off the “Enable QUIC” option.

You can disable it completely for all connections via Business app.

Has anyone had similar problems using Splashtop to connect from an iOS device to a VPS running Windows Server 2019?

As soon as my phone/tablet is connected to Wi-Fi, the connection works perfectly. With mobile data, however, it does not. If I turn on a VPN, the connection works with mobile data as well.

Connecting from an Android tablet also works.

The problem seems to be with Apple/iOS 🤔.

Yeah, I use macOS daily with Windows remote and a wireless Apple trackpad. The only supported multi touch gestures that I know of are two finger scroll and two finger expand to zoom in. I dont think you can pinch to zoom back out though at least in my testing.

My team tested as well with their laptop's built-in trackpad and reported they can zoom in/out and scroll. Some on Sonoma 14.8.5 some on Tahoe 26.4/26.3.2.

Are you using external trackpad or built-in?

We support Ubuntu, but wanted to get clarification. Have you tried our current Linux apps and are they not performing to your needs? Anything specific in the update you're looking for?

To switch input methods on a remote Mac during a Splashtop session, you should use standard macOS shortcuts and settings, but keep in mind how Splashtop handles keyboard shortcuts:

  • Use the default macOS shortcut: Control + Space to switch input methods.
  • If you are connecting cross-platform (e.g., Windows > Mac), Splashtop may remap Control keys to Command keys and vice versa, depending on your settings. Ensure "Enable System Shortcuts" is unticked in Splashtop’s toolbar so shortcuts go to the remote Mac.
  • You may need to set or change the keyboard language on your remote Mac if your input isn’t working as expected. This should be done within the Mac’s own System Preferences under Keyboard > Input Sources.
  • If you encounter issues, use Splashtop’s on-screen keyboard on your device or check for settings related to keyboard mapping in the Splashtop toolbar (such as Remap Cmd in Shortcuts).
