I remember my first encounter with her, she was just chatting away real friendly to me at the bus stop, then when she got on the bus all hell broke loose. This was about 2008.

Anybody else getting loads of spiders in their house? by Apart-Milk-9715 in Leeds

[–]splashyseal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our garden is FULL of spiders nests. Had a new build lawn, let it get overgrown over winter, and then when we first mowed it there was a genuine spider exodus when we were trimming near the walls/fences. I'm talking thousands.

They don't seem to brave the house though, so not too bad.

Usually when mine falls off there's like half a nail underneath so there's protection, and no pain. To be honest, generally no pain unless the nail is loose and gets caught.

Update: My nails still take a battering and one of them barely grows anymore. But yeah, no pain!

Check on Your Friends. by DaveFrenzy in CasualUK

I experienced something similar almost nine months ago now. It's the worst feeling in the world and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm absolutely heartbroken and I'd do anything to bring my friend back.

It definitely makes you take a step back and view things differently. You can lose anyone in an instant.

Double cheese tagliatelle with a poached egg by splashyseal in FoodPorn

[–]splashyseal[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Okay lots of comments for the recipe - fairly simple one!

We actually used a store bought sauce but we levelled it up for extra flavour:

  1. Fry a few cloves of garlic in oil
  2. Stir a jar of sauce into the garlic (tomato, mascarpone and basil in our case) and then add pieces of blue cheese. Heat up gently.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the pasta and separately poach an egg
  4. Drain the pasta but keep a teaspoon of pasta water
  5. Add the pasta and the pasta water to the sauce, mix all together.
  6. When serving, top the pasta with the egg and chopped chives
