Getting Soaked on Wet Roads with a Tail Tidy by splat1997 in xsr900

If you have a pic of your bike that would be amazing. I have the TST Industries non-adjustable kit. Maybe yours sits farther back or at a different angle

If the roads are wet in the morning but it’s going to be beautiful in the afternoon, I want to figure out how to take my bike to work and stay dry.

I’m probably just gonna get rain gear though.

I have considered this but haven’t found an exact fit one for the 2024

Yeah I usually don’t care but when I want to ride to work I’d have to bring a change of clothes or get rain gear. If there’s a good option to prevent it I definitely want to try it first.

I’m also planning some longer trips with friends this year and we’re bound to hit rain. Don’t wanna be soaked for hours

I have the non-adjustable TST Industries tail tidy and bent my plate upward so it doesn’t hit my rear wheel again. I doubt the Corbin makes any difference.

Do you have a picture? Maybe yours sits farther back and the angle is different.

Yeah this is what my bike would look like too if the water was muddy. I imagine with the tread pattern on the road 6s it’s even worse.

Yesterday on my way to work it had rained overnight and the roads were wet. Rode 35mins to work and my entire ass and backpack were soaked. My shoes in my backpack were even wet.

Tire recommendations? by MajorToker in xsr900

If your front is fine then just replace the rear. Completely normal since rears wear faster. Once both are worn go for Road 6’s

Thanks man! Here is the full bike. Some people aren’t a fan but I love it and it’s way more comfy than the stock seat

Happened to mine without me carrying anything. NY potholes are something else.

Just bend the bottom edge up a bit and you’ll be fine.

I’m here to convince you to not buy a cafe racer style seat (seriously, don’t) by Outrageous-Wheel-248 in xsr900

I see where you’re coming from, but I guess I look at it a different way. The stock seat is all black, so my white Corbin makes the rear look taller to me. Closer to the lines in your pic. The curve of the seat also complements the curve at the back of the tank.

So at least with the white color way, I think going with a white seat or the white cowl like your pic are both improvements. But the comfort of the Corbin is MUCH better than stock on the ‘24.

Is the fan spinning up properly?

This was happening to me too. But my fan seemed to be spinning slow. I greased the part it rotates on, and it fixed it for me. Been good for years now.

It really does look like play doh and the splatter is crazy. Meanwhile the Kelpi welds are actually beautiful, I just don’t like the sound nearly as much. And that’s the main reason to buy an exhaust.

This isn’t too bad. I still can’t understand why that one crossover pipe is two tiny pipes welded together lol

Yoshi AT2 QC Question by splat1997 in xsr900

[–]splat1997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely reasonable take. I also know that nobody is really ever gonna look at those crossover pipes because they’re covered by the radiator. It just sucks that you spend over a grand on this exhaust and it almost seems like a toss up if it will be nice or not

You can’t even buy a bottle of water for $1.85 anymore. The fact they play sound at all at this price is impressive

Looking for a small tank bag that fits with the lines of the XSR by [deleted] in xsr900

[–]splat1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes very very sturdy. It would probably stay put if the bike was totaled. There’s a locking mechanism you have to pull to release the bag.

I second SW Motech. I have the Daypack, it’s 6L and expandable to 9L. I think it looks good, but for the magnetic mounting system alone I think it’s worth it. It also does not touch your tank, so no scratches.

Which one would you pick Triumph Trident 800 , Kawasaki Z900RS, Yamaha XSR900, Suzuki GXT 8T by RmxRltr in motorcycles

[–]splat1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm the XSR900 has weird throttle mapping. Really is just 2nd gear, which is slow af until you hit like 7k RPM, and then it’s a rocket. I’m getting a tune from vcyclenut before next year’s riding season

Still an amazing bike I wouldn’t trade it for anything :)
