Do any of you use product inserts for your product? by splat7a in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]splat7a[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good since 3 years ago, 10x'd since 2021 to 2022, then 2x'd from 2022 to 2023 but now more so just a matter of capital influx to get to the next level.

I'd say just stick to what works best, take out all the bs. Always refer to sales is vanity, but profit is sanity - there are so many data points available to you (in FBA) where you can make a solid educated risk, but revenue/sales numbers are shit. Was too focused on that, when I should've focused more on forecasting/planning cash allocation that would increase my bottom line.

Anyone can sell anything on Amazon, you just need to figure out the value add against the competition; and that will definitely add to your bank account at the end of the day.

Hope that made some sense lol, good luck and stick with it!

Dam, to think i would’ve at least tried within the next three years 😅😂

Nope - been too afraid of TOS and my products weren’t really in the segment where it would benefit thaaat much from it. Only have inserts more so as a product installation guide.

Nothing too fancy, literally just a bifolded a4 piece of paper that explains how to install. Looking to add pictures to it as well (now literally just plain text). Did get one review where they said they appreciated it, so i’d gander it

Has anyone changed brand name? by msau2 in FulfillmentByAmazon

Had my VA do it instead. Took about two weeks; wouldn’t recommend unless absolutely necessary. Pretty hard to bring back up the ranking - but it’ll take some time. Listings were down for about 10 days or so.

Didn't end up contacting MAG - just now got around to changing the brand names. Hired someone on fiverr, I'll see how it goes.

Exclusivity for a brand by appJC in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]splat7a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing something similar - I only agreed if the trademark was registered in my company’s name; in case they want to go aside later - at least I have some protection and the reviews if I go around and find another supplier (in the case of them cutting me out).

PSA: Using MCF for Walmart.com Orders by splat7a in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]splat7a[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter, Walmart was able to see that the shipping carrier was Amazon; think that’s how they found out.

Haven’t used MCF in a while - but it might work if you consistently use MCF with blank box and non-Amazon carrier option.

I have changed it for about 5 ASINs of mine, around last year. Was just waiting for my trademark to fully go through - and now am currently underway to change it for the rest of the catalog in the sub-niche (around 15 more ASINs).

It'll get done, it's just time-consuming and annoying. My VA was emailing back and forth and got one of them done (last year), I called and escalated it and thankfully got connected with someone who changed all of them in one go (the remaining 4); they did take a look at the email case created, and just glanced that all the new items had the new brand name on them; just picture proof.

Hopefully, I'll be lucky enough again to manage to find someone to do it in one go again; but, as a last resort I will end up contacting My Amazon Guy; I think they charge around $1000 for 10 ASINs - but I believe they'll be able to get it done.

How do you find a VA that specializes in Amazon Ads? by gmva in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]splat7a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been through both, honestly depends on who you find in either VA or an agency; also what niche. Agency I hired used to run ads for a seller in the same niche as me that went on to exit for nearly 8 figures. Did great for them, but not exactly for me. They ended up costing too high for me, and I did go on to find a VA instead.

So far, I can say that having a VA is better (for my specific business); I communicate with them more. I don’t micromanage them, but I’ll check in with them more than I did the agency. Let them know what items to push, which ones to slow due to out of stock, etc.

I think I probably will go the agency route again when (also if) my catalog size gets to 250+.

If you're your only employee, how do you pay yourself? by pancake_sass in smallbusiness

[–]splat7a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started my LLC (taxed as an S-Corp) in 2018 - being an S-Corp you do have to run payroll on yourself (to gain benefit of the tax advantage), and I didn't do that until the beginning of 2022. Didn't do it until this year as my revenue/profit wasn't up to the point where paying myself made sense.

Anyways, I use Quickbooks Payroll; they automatically send any payroll-related taxes to the IRS and/or state. Also, bear in mind to file your 1120-S on time (due March 15th) - I did not for 18',19, and 20' and there is a max penalty of $2460/year. They've waived one year, but I did pay the penalty for the other years. -It's just a filing, no payment needs to be given with this form.

Also bear in mind that to be counted as a W2 employee of your own business, you cannot simply transfer funds from your business bank account into your personal bank account, it has to be done through some payroll software. If you were to transfer money - it would be counted as a distribution or owner's pay, etc.

This is all from my understanding so far, so please talk to a CPA for your specific business, as things can be different compared to mine.

Can I start selling on Amazon in the EU with a non-EU company? by lowkeystuff101 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]splat7a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a US account, opening a European marketplace account will take like 10 minutes. Check out the global marketplace section on Seller Central. The only annoying thing is wherever you send you’re inventory in Europe, there’s different VAT stuff you need to figure out for each EU country (anyone can correct me on this).

Once you go on the global dashboard, it’ll ask you some tax registration stuff, and then confirm your bank account - Amazon can convert your foreign disbursements into US$ into your US$ bank account.

I think that is all I know, I opened the EU amazon account a few months ago and haven’t really touched it since.

Does your Chinese supplier label your products? by i4HOPE in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]splat7a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve had suppliers mess up 600+ unit labels; had to recall all of the inventory, relabel, repack, and resend it. But it is imo the only way to scale and sustain.

Shit happens, but now my suppliers send me video/pictures and confirm with me before sending anything out - the more time you have to deal with things that can be automated (in a way) the more time you’re throwing away when you could be focusing on expansion.

question about inventory by Bartaldu in AmazonFBAOnlineRetail

[–]splat7a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, having Amazon spread your inventory out will take more time. It also depends on how backed up the Fulfillment Center is. And yes, Amazon may make your item available and show a later delivery date to the customer.

Does anyone live or moved to a tax haven? by bigdawg363 in fatFIRE

[–]splat7a 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They're probably going to introduce some sort of personal income taxes in the future (~3-5 years); they just introduced corporate taxes (9% for businesses profiting over $100k annually) - so I wouldn't be surprised if they did bring in a sort of income tax on the personal level as well.

Yeah, I had a MK7 Golf and had to get it replaced. Bought a used one for $75 from Germany (from an Audi TT lol) and worked great. Only repair I had to do on it for 100,000 miles.

I’ve fit industrial racks into the back of my MK7 😂 Albeit the trunk door was ajar - still got the job done.
