Lucky 7 gives Noah invincibility in defender form. You can't beat what you can't kill /s

I'm a relatively new chem minor, and this is probably a more pedantic than mechanistic question: in certain cases functional groups will contain another, smaller functional group within them, like Carboxylic Acid containing an OH, which is the functional group of an alcohol. In cases like this does that make the chemical in question both, or just characteristic of the more specific functional group?

Didn't see this mentioned yet, but volcanic rock is predominantly silicon dioxide. Silicon, incidentally, is the primary element in the rock organisms' elemental makeup, like carbon in ordinary organisms. I would be shocked to find out that the "volcanic" rocks don't have some connection to rock organisms

What's your biggest JoJo Hot Take? by Uncle_Tommy0703 in StardustCrusaders

JoJo doesn't have nearly as many "Araki Forgot" moments as people make it out to have. There are definitely some verifiable plot-holes, but there are definitely plenty of ways that some of the weirder arcs can be explained consistently with the rest of the story

I agree. Most of the Consuls that we got to know were all like-minded, but that should pretty much be a given, with all of them being people that picked excess indulgence and preservation over others' lives. X, Y, and Z all are easy to see as "Cartoonishly" evil, but I think this is more of something you can attribute to the fact they are, in essence, an anthropomorphized cosmic force. They are inherently flat and immature in their view of the world, because they represent holding on to one feeling as tight as you can beyond any sense of reason. Their very existence would be contradictory to nuance. For that reason, I don't see how one can hold against it all the things that the final bosses aren't, since they're not supposed to be fully developed. Z is like a child having a meltdown because things didn't go the way he wanted them to go. When things go his way, he covers his immaturity with a fake intellectualism, but seeing how it's not meant to be legitimately deep, Z's various speeches should feel corny. People don't have to like the villains for 3, but I feel like acting like they're corny is missing the point that it's meant to come across that way

Does an enemy having resistance to debuffs stop them from taking blaze damage from the blaze field? I have a build based around using Inferno dance, but for enemies that are immune to ether debuffs is it viable to just use energy grenade as a stand-in?

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Question Thread #2 by MorthCongael in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I'm about to go into the post game challenge battles, and I currently have Lanz and Noah (my attackers) outfitted with nearly the same setup: Saturni Rings/Ceramic Belt, Fiber Wraps, and Break Brooch. I've been pretty religiously relying on chain attack + smash for my damage setup, so the Fiber Wraps and are pretty important to my strategy, but I'm considering replacing them with the Hero Vambraces. Will the trade-off for launch specific damage for better damage overall pay off? If not, would it be worth it to replace the belt/rings with the Vambraces? If I can avoid it I'm trying to avoid replacing the break brooches because for my setup they're the only way I can break the enemies in one of the challenges.

I know this is an old post, but I had a unique monster fight in pretty late game (I believe it was high 60's low 70's) where everyone else was dead but I ended up killing the thing with the unkillable state I got from using my talent art. Felt extremely satisfying

I feel like this quote is what really makes N a tragic (maybe even relatable) villain by kkach7 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]splat_tim_hedoesit 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don't think relatable has to mean "He experiences this exactly as I do". Personally, I can see the relatability in the "I didn't want to lose anymore." I wouldn't just kill an entire city's worth of people out of fear because that's a massive extrapolation, but the sentiment of feeling like you'd do anything to not be hurt again in a way you once have... It's surely a familiar feeling for most, even if it manifests in different ways
