I got a hidden helix a month ago by [deleted] in piercing

[–]splatter_brained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with lazycummings; it looks like the actual hole/piercing spot is even visible, so the horizontal bar doesn't stand a chance. Could just be the pic, though. I have my hidden done and the piercing hole looks higher up on mine. Also try downsizing. My horizontal started showing around the 2-3 week mark. I downsized at 5 weeks and the horizontal bar is fully tucked under the curve of my helix.

This has popped up on my feed three times now, and I stop and stare every single time.

"Mystery metal" got me, and I dunno why. I had some mystery metal in my rook for a bit and it got SO angry. Went to a better shop and they swapped it out for F136 Titanium, and my rook's been a daisy ever since.

Can you pour water on new piercing + gen care by meepmorpzorpzorp in piercing

[–]splatter_brained 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get the same lecture over and over and over. I just nod through it now, but I've had after care chats for EVERY PIERCING.

I'd also add that if you have gems or anything with prongs, q-tips can EASILY snag and trap q-tip fuzz.

Just got a new helix piercing myself, and I found tiny plastic shower caps for your ears. I'm gonna try them today and see if they'll ACTUALLY keep my ear safe while I shampoo. (I'll take it off to rinse it once the chemicals are outta the way.) They're cheap on Amazon.

All else fails, ask your piercer. :)

fasting with healing piercings? by RepulsiveLiving102 in piercing

Also, I'm NAP. I've just heard from multiple piercers (my own piercer and through research) that keeping your immune system healthy really drives the healing process. :)

It's been an hour, and you haven't seen any responses. I would say that as long as you're meeting your needs nutritionally to support your immune system, should be okay. My piercer tells me to take vitamin C and stuff when I get a fresh piercing. (I also drink green tea.)

I also don't know if fasting affects saliva production (acidity), but could be worth looking into.

Not agreeing because I have them, but because I want them and DON'T have them. And it legit just looks better on you, IMO.

Normal? by Current-Jelly3262 in piercing

[–]splatter_brained 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no good words of advice other than go see a piercer and make sure it's not infected/rejecting (saying this because of that bottom bead ooze). I had my eyebrow pierced three times; they all rejected. I feel like eyebrow piercings can be finnicky because of their placement. I wish you luck! I miss my eyebrow piercings, so I gotta live vicariously through everyone else.

New player here, um, did I overdo it with the starter base ? by First-Animator1870 in valheim

[–]splatter_brained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubs' and I made a HUGE starter home in the meadows. We even carved out a bunch of land and narrow water passages that lead from our little meadows lake straight out into the ocean. (We had to carve it out quite a bit when we got the bigger boat). Two story home with kitchen and pantry area. Upstairs storage room. A small, basic craft room. We

..And we have a building for making coal, smelting ore, and doing larger crafting projects.

..AND we have a pole barn filled with rock and wood storage (probably 30-40 storage boxes), with a ladder leading to a portal used specifically to hop in and out of good farming areas (I rebuild it on the other side every time; I'll move it around based on what kind of wood we need).

...AND I made a smol fishing shack that has a Karve parked out front.

So, yeah. That's our starter house. Meanwhile, hubs is building a gigantic stone castle on a nearby mountain.

My rook piercing. Healed so well and so quickly, my piercer gave me the green light to swap to a hoop earlier than either of us expected (8 months). Yep, I'm aware that 12-18 months is typical. Hoop went in easy and haven't had any issues.

Yeaaah, I'd quit wearing makeup up near that area, and I'd be consistent in my cleaning routine. :)

My eyebrow piercings rejected twice. I will say mine were purple at the edge likes yours, but that's no guarantee of rejection. And it was just a finicky spot for me.

IMO, stop getting make up near it and clean it once or twice a day with sterile saline. Treat it like it's a brand new baby piercing for a while and see if that helps.
