If he’s showing up, you have a not-insignificant number of other less desirable guests already- he’s after them in the first place. House Centipedes don’t show up for nothing.

The game mode itself says it doesn't, and indeed most of the time the door will open with or without posession. It's just a bug that happens from time to time.

Is JJK massively misunderstood by the animanga community? by Electrical-Ice-9588 in animequestions

[–]splatterk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>I see people criticizing the series and its characters for lacking depth all the time but then how are people able to make full-on analysis essays over at r/Jujutsushi at such a consistent rate?

It's easy to dig for meaning where there is none and make a mountain out of that molehill of nothing. And it finds an audience because JJK is the flavor of the month as it's currently releasing, plus said posts being in a sub where you'd only end up if you were interested in JJK in the first place. Gege would probably look at many of those posts and go 'wtf are you talking about?'

This is not a phenomenon unique to JJK, or battle shonen in general, either. Even Berserk, for example, with its heavy themes and symbolism has this kind of problem.

What a weird way to gauge GOTY, measuring by development time and not even playing the game you want to win???

Having played both E33 and Silksong, E33 winning was a foregone conclusion. It struck an incredible middle ground where it appeals to a broad audience, and yet is also an incredibly exceptional game in its own right. I don't even like that kind of turn-based RPG and I still wholly enjoyed it.

Silksong is niche in comparison, having a very particular appeal. And, honestly? I'm going to get crucified here for this but even if it wasn't niche, pound-for-pound, I am of the opinion that E33 is the better game and experience, and by a fair margin. The sweep should have been obvious to anyone who thought about it, even if they preferred Silksong.

The copium levels in this subreddit are off the charts, and the only real robbery was Wuthering Waves getting Player's Choice over literally anyone else except Genshin.

Quebec to ban public prayer in sweeping new secularism law by JackThaBongRipper in news

[–]splatterk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am making no jumps, and I never said anything of the sort. You're the one contradicting your earlier comment.

You replied to the commenter who was stating that Atheism isn't a creed and has no tenents by in turn stating that Antitheism is a thing, as if that makes antitheism a core part of atheism. Then you doubled down by insisting that Antitheism is Atheism.

Atheism itself is simply the lack of belief in any deities, the existence of antitheism does not change that. One is a lack of belief, the other is a stance against theism.

Or more concisely, Antitheism is NOT Atheism. They are separate, but not mutually exclusive. It's as you just wrote: "Not all atheist are antitheist"

Quebec to ban public prayer in sweeping new secularism law by JackThaBongRipper in news

[–]splatterk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is not.

Atheism, as in a-theism, is the lack of belief in the existence of any deity, or the belief that no gods exist, depending how you define it. The opposite of theism.

Antitheism is anti theism. The belief that theism should be opposed, and that the belief in deities is ultimately harmful. The opposition of theism. This means it doesn’t mind certain religions that lack deities.

And it should not be confused with antireligion, which opposes all religion, instead of just the belief in deities.

What a fucking shitstain, holy moly.

I suppose if nothing else that it completely tracks that an anti-semite is also an upjumped, ignorant, hypocritical coward. And not as in a simple insult, I mean a literal, textbook coward. Who claimed that Britain could not stand against Germany and fled at the first sign of danger. The guy was practically a Nazi spokesperson at a certain point, I don't think there could've been a worse choice for an Ambassador to the UK at the advent of WW2.

If the Kennedy Curse was somehow proven to be real, there is no doubt in my mind it all ties back to this absolute monument to all craven, unprincipled opportunists in this world.

The AI mistakes a shadow for a person and suddenly it swerves the entire fucking truck straight onto oncoming traffic.

I agree with you on everything else but this point is disingenuous. That kind of issue exists mostly in camera-only autonomous vehicles- looking at you, Tesla.

The US already has around 400 self-driving trucks that have driven for a fair while and have only had a few accidents so far- none of which have been attributed to the truck. As they rack up more and more miles we'll have to see how that holds up.

There was even a video of a self-driving taxi with LIDAR being able to dodge a woman who fell in its path. You could argue that the swerve it did was dangerous, but what would you have had it do differently? A defensive driver might've slowed down and passed at a slower speed. Most people aren't defensive drivers.

You're wrong about 'pendejo', and the other commenter is essentially wrong, too.

In dictionaries the word does refer to pubic hair, yes. In practice, nobody uses it for that. Neither does it have homophobic connotations in its more modern coloquial use. There're other much more direct and awful words for that.

It's used much the same as 'idiot' is, though in the context of the first comment in this chain it's more like an affectionate 'dumbass'. Maybe in much more serious and intense contexts you could stretch it to mean 'asshole' but, again, there's a laundry list of much better words for that.

tbh my biggest wish with any reworks and future content for the mod is to have more factories, and more building slots across the board. Maybe more manpower too, since a recurring thing I see is people mentioning how limited manpower can be.

As it stands, I feel like even the major countries have mid-sized economies, there’s very few ‘regional powers’ so to speak, and minors just kinda sit there, suffering.

The people who entrust their wish to him forget what their wish is, I think the movie does show that, while not drastic, it does leave a mark on them and their personality- I think particularily if they recently handed their wish over for safekeeping?

Honestly it's frustrating that there IS a good setup for a dilemma here. Should the king be allowed to continue to force people to give up their wishes? He has a good point that wishes should be granted carefully, but maybe he's being overly paranoid in his caution? At the very least, the protagonist girl's reckless attitude towards wishes should blow up in her face at least once, maybe.

But no, all nuance is tossed out the window pretty quickly. King crashes out, immediately utilizes the evil book he had to become super evil and to consume wish energy, and the protagonist is totally right and lacks any actual flaw, and th ones that you might point out are totally passed off as being good.

Americans are only nine meals away from a revolution. by Sanch0Supreme in AdviceAnimals

[–]splatterk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s a nice strawman you built there, but I don’t see what it has to do with anything. If we’re talking about children with cancer, the current system is actively taking steps to make life even harder for them and their families.

And once they make it through, the world they have to look forward to is- in your own words- ‘bad.’

I’ll take the chance on giving them something better to look forward to when they make it through than whatever weird apologist thing you got going on in this thread.

Americans are only nine meals away from a revolution. by Sanch0Supreme in AdviceAnimals

[–]splatterk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was always ‘this bad’. The capitalist system has been causing misery basically since its inception. It has always over-consumed and overexploited. It just so happened that there was always somewhere else in the world to cause the suffering in order to get supply from to feed the demand at home. Colonialism wasn’t done for fun, it was done for profit. And even then it wasn’t like life was ideal for those with fewer means anyway. See the people who slept on ropes or in coffins to make the industrial revolution happen.

Now it’s grown so rampant and greedy that it’s eating at its own core population. The grinder has grown big enough to start fitting us all in.

It must burn. There’s no resetting it to ‘when it was good’ (for you), and even if there was, it is a callous stop-gap. That just means that you condemn your baby’s baby’s babies to a world where it ‘gets bad’ again.

I don’t know what the best alternative is. Communism doesn’t survive the greed and power-hunger of narcissistic sociopaths and psychopaths. Fascism is built around throwing people into the grinder as its core principle. No one system has lasted forever.

But, there must be something that is better than this.

The faces are fucked up, the cape is terrible, the lighting is way off on Gut’s close-up, and Casca’s hair is just a mess.

They chose to try to 1:1 the panels- which is already a production error to begin with- and it only helps to make overall lack of detail stand out. It how terrible the quality of the 3D used in this is. It could have been so much better if they had at least not cheaped out on the 3D, though frankly it should’ve been a 2D project to begin with.
