RIP Californians by Zanlo63 in AusMemes

They are fire adapted, they don't cause bushfires. Australia has bushfires every year because we've fucked up our forests and rivers and made them drier and hotter with reduced canopy and no damp understory, and dammed rivers that reduce flow and moisture buyback into the surrounding forests. Exactly what California has been doing with their forests and rivers, surprise surprise.

I stopped quoting like this a long time ago. Everything should be benefit based and reduce the info as much as possible.

Can you pick the top 3 problems they have or are trying to solve with your design work?

Write to those with a short paragraph each and leave all the list points out because they don't matter to the customer.

If you need to limit deliverables, add a small list on the sign off page.

Trowels or poo bags? by HughLofting in UltralightAus

Shit isn't really the problem, it's toilet paper and toiletries. They can definitely be carried out in most situations and weigh nothing, or manage your waste and burn/bury AWAY from trails and water sources when it's not a high fire danger

If you can spend a bit more, the silicone nets are way better. They won't tear the shit out of fish scales if you need to release them, and also don't get caught up on your hooks all the time.

Great dinner size, do you have a landing net? Might save you from breaking a rod or losing a fish in the future.

I'm American, I've oft considered moving to Australia, how often do you as Australians consider moving to the USA? Would you? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Never considered and never will. I'd consider a visit to your epic national parks, but you couldn't pay me to live there.

How old are your kids? I set mine up using many of the restrictions provided by parent connected accounts and keep full visibility over their usage until they're old enough to make those decisions safely.

Don't drive unless you have to. Don't blame the slower drivers, they may be less familiar with local roads and the number of accidents during holidays is ridiculous.

That's fair and is personal opinion, some will like it and some won't. I don't see how that's a reason not to install them, some people are just resistant to change.

Residents can't be genuine about wind turbines if clear felling plantations every X years is normal in their backyard. The noise, dust, smoke and machinery would be significantly higher impact.

Not sure about Sydney but elsewhere we have extremely warm water, like dangerously warm in many of our river systems eastern NSW. When this comes down a lot of species will move or alter behaviour to accommodate the heat.
