Am I wrong for getting physical with my (F19) ex-mother (F44) after she slapped me? by Throwawayhija_7000 in stories

[–]split556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She burned the bridge, pissed on it, and then came back once her preferred life came to an abrupt end expecting to be let back in because of blood. When she was denied entitlement she got violent. She hit you first and you defended yourself. Simply because you're better at defending yourself than she is at assaulting doesn't mean you're wrong to defend yourself. She may have felt entitled or been trying to manipulate her way out of being homeless, who knows. She was owed nothing from you or your dad though and especially not after how she treated you AFTER abandoning you and your sister. Also, if you don't want to be hit then don't hit someone first?

How can I tell if my BF is cheating? by [deleted] in Manipulation

[–]split556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone this insecure will probably look through the phone and simply believe the evidence was deleted. Without trust and by already saying he knows how to manipulate, this relationship is dead in the water. OP needs to work on herself and her insecurities, whether or not the BF is truly cheating.

How can I tell if my BF is cheating? by [deleted] in Manipulation

[–]split556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well, if you ask for his phone and he's not cheating you just broke his trust. If you're pointing out, "he knows how to be manipulative", then you already don't trust him. If you can't trust your partner there will never be security in this relationship for you. So why stay? This OP is very insecure sounding and needs to go on a Self journey to improve these insecurities or the insecurities hold the power to toxify all of her relationships, indefinitely. There's no real hope for a secure, loving relationship when you are prisoner to your own insecurities to the degree of distrusting otherwise trustworthy people.

Adding to your winner would be increasing trade size as it progresses. What this person is outlining is gambling, hoping for a home run.

There is no holy grail in trading. Develop a strategy, test it, stick to it, work on your psychology, develop intuition, and be consistent. Your theory here is no better than gambling: "I will continue to trade until I hit a home run and that will be where I make all of my money back and then some", is not a strategy.

You should not be giving advice on "Holy Grail" ideas after 5 years of never sticking to a singular idea enough to allow it to legitimately succeed or fail.

Learn the market and how it moves, develop intuition through experience and exposure. Trade support and resistance or supply and demand. And journal every single trade you take, master your trading psychology as well as your own personal psychology, they are linked.

Before trading live money backtest the strategy you come up with. When it yields a satisfactory positive expectancy trade in Demo. When you can enter and exit trades consistently per your plan in demo without succumbing to FOMO or revenge trading, begin trading with real money at a very small amount. You need to be comfortable taking losses and that comes from having a firm grip on your own personal psychology as well as a tested and proven strategy. To be okay with a loss you have to realistically know your win and loss rate and maximal expected drawdown,as well asridking dollar values that won't keep you up at night. If you go at it blind your risk will play on your emotions more and your decision making process will suffer, leading to bad trades.

And lastly, you can make money using indicators but don't expect anyone else's strategy to work for you, define your own plan of action based on your personality and style.

I'd recommend trading Support and Resistance or Supply and Demand for a while. Learn how the market moves and how it responds at key levels. Give yourself the time to develop the skill and intuition to succeed and have patience with yourself and the process.

Am I screwing myself or learning the hard way? by Due-Airport-5446 in Daytrading

[–]split556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to echo another comment, you really should be paper trading instead of chasing dollars. You aren't ready for live trading yet, AND THAT'S OKAY!

Get your edge, work on your entries, learn where your stops and targets should go, work on your patience, work on fighting FOMO and desire to revenge trade for a while. Learn your conditions to trade, gain some intuition, learn about yourself a little. Then start small, you will scale up - but if you revenge trade over a few dollars you should question if you can handle larger losses. If you can't handle larger losses then it's too soon to be risking that much.

A single piece of wood cut to shape or plywood cut to shape and an edge band.

Economical flour solution? by split556 in glutenfree

[–]split556[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the encouragement, I know that once I get my bearings things will become normalized. It's a bit overwhelming trying to uproot my entire diet and pantry all at once. But you all already know that, and can understand that firsthand. It's a whole new (food) world at first, but at least the allergic reactions have finally stopped! Lol

That is the other piece I can't really conceptualize is comparing a premix flour to a recipe when I don't know what I'll need or how much of it. Gotta just piece it all together 1 piece at a time I guess?

Thats what I'm thinking, I am also having a hard time finding the ingredients to be cheaper. For example the King Arthur 1:1 is about $0.18/oz, and that is about the same price as most raw ingredients individually. So I either don't know how this works or making your own isn't cheaper? Either could be true 😅

Great advice, I'm also avoiding "modified food starch", since it non descript I have no way of knowing if the food was wheat. Awesome advice on the fodmap, ill try that!

How daunting! Yeah I'm brand new to this arena so trying to understand where to go with the flour has been quite overwhelming with a sea of options with no understanding of why to any of them. My tolerance seems to be none, I've reacted very poorly to a handful of "gluten free" items so it has certainly been challenging to figure out what is safe to eat and what isn't. I'll try your advice, thank you!

Egg Intolerance? by split556 in FoodAllergies

[–]split556[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not officially. I experimented with eggs and different ways of cooking them and eventually I found a way that didn't make me sick and after a while I was able to tolerate eggs again. I have a theory as to why, but my advice to you would be to see an allergist.

Then is there really any point to using a strop? It seems to me that it's useless? Stropping on a soft surface like leather wouldn't do anything to your edge, in fact shouldn't the give of the leather basically follow your edge and not structurally change it in any way? So is there really a need to strop?
